Am working on a write piece for newspaper on last night's stacked deck debate.
Does anyone have any FACTUAL information on military or civilian career of Brigadier General Kerr, last night's Clinton-planted questioner?
Need to know typical DD214 stuff: Time in service, commissioning source, assignments, any combat or combat area time, active duty service other than ACDUTRA, service schools completed (CGSS, War College, etc> decorations received, Branch, (Infantry, Armor, etc.) when he revealed sexual orientation, any outstanding service good or bad, civilian career, etc.
Understand promotion to BG may have been honorary on retirement from Guard, not federally recognized.
Any help appreciated.

Your calguard link didn’t work.
No, seriously, he was the Commander of the Turd Brigade.
According to his resume he was an officer in Intel during the height of the Cold War. As such, he would have been asked about being a homosexual in order to get his top secret security clearance. He obviously lied, and you can bet your bottom dollar the Soviets knew all about him.
He should be court martialed and have his retirement and rank stripped from him immediately.
I’d like to know how many years of actual active duty he did, and when. And if he was ever in combat.
My guess is he was one of those guys who spent 90% of his “43 years in the military” in the reserves, but doesn’t mention tha fact.
Not to knock the reserves, but I can’t stand guys like this phony who imply that they spent 43 years on active duty.
I think the most informative piece in that list is the SLDN bio, which suggests the good "general" was only on active duty as an enlisted man, and that all of his commissioned service (which supposedly makes him 'credible') was in the reserves. In fact, the guy is basically a college professor! He became a general only in the CA National Guard in early 1991 and served as a BG until 1995.
This guy is hardly a hard core regular army airborne ranger combat veteran.

I read on another thread here today that he isn’t even a real General. It’s an honorary rank he was given when he retired. It’s only given by the state and not the military.
Given that he lied, I’m betting dishonorable.
He should be investigate.
I correct myself: He became a 1LT in 1960. His resume does not state the year he left active duty. Sorry for the misstatement.
Correct myself again:
“Upon release from active duty, he continued to serve in the U. S. Army Reserve and was commissioned a First Lieutenant in June 1960.”

So he was on active duty as an enlisted man and was only an officer in the Reserves.
I hear he was loyal to his “unit” and that he never left his buddy’s “behind”.

and later, Chief of Staff. He held this position until reassigned to State Headquarters on 31 July 1995. General Kerr retired on 1 June 1996 after 43 years of service to the United States and the State of California.

‘’’Sucking up wont help.”...
Um, I think your language use here may need to be modified, given the subject of the thread...
Looks like he was only on active duty for some 7 years and got out of active duty with the rank of a Second Lieutenant — he didn’t even make 1st Lt., until after he got into the reserves.
