Not anymore I don’t think. It was used on all cars before the 1980s I believe. Some third-party bodyshop paints might still be lead-based though.
I know the paint used by our military is still lead-based. Lead-based paint dries faster and is more durable.
The lead in the paint is a structural element.
This brought to us courtesy of NAFTA. The Chinese build up in Mexico, Mexico imports to the USA duty free and in mass.
Sweet deal for the Chinese. They didn’t even need to make a trade agreement with us, just slide in to Mexico.
Exactly. Those cars will be stamped with “Made in Mexico.” Americans will be more likely to drive a Made in Mexico car than a Made in China car. Hell, lots of lowerend GM cars are Made in Mexico already.
I used to own a yugo. Sorry
NO MORE COMMIE CARS FOR ME!
I won’t even buy a AK from them. (5.56mm was good enough for me for 28 years it is good enough now!)
Hey, let the Chicoms take the fruits of our balance of payments and industrialize the Third World with the help of America’s mall spending public and become the beacon of economic hope for the developing nations. They can have all the friends we have lost, we don’t need friends.

They’ve already licensed the Sears & Roebuck warranty:
“It Break, You Keep Pieces”.
That’s a good one!.....Mexicans running around in bamboo go-karts with lead doors!
NO MORE COMMIE CARS FOR ME!......The Yugo doesn’t even make a decent door stop!
You would be incarcerated for violating their stringent immigration laws and pay stiff fines. Our border arrangement is only one way, you know, where we make the compromises and they make the decisions.
That’s what the U.S. gets for giving the anti-democratic, militarily agresssive Chinese regime “most favored nation” status” over a relatively democratic, pro-labor next-door neighbor. U.S. imports of clothing and electronics (and subsidized agriculture) are what’s keeping Mexicans from working at home, and having to emigrate to the U.S.
I’m shocked that Wal-Mart hasn’t already started selling a Wal-Car for $5000.00.
They are going to need to expand their lay-away area....
The in car navigation system is probably supplied by Loral...
Imagine a car built to the same fit and finish of a Norinco!
The more Mexican's can afford to buy their own damn cars, the less they will steal from Texan's.
Looks like the side impact broke the dummy’s neck!
What a deathtrap!
I can’t remember the last time I saw a Yugo on the road.
Just what we need, more ugly riceburners.
