Please don't flame me for this observation.

You should be flamed. He did a lot of good in a lot of areas, and you choose the occasion of his death to complain about one issue where he wasn't perfect.

I'm not going to give him the accolade's of the masses for his "good deeds" when I sweated blood to fight his initiatives to destroy fundamental rights in other areas. When did the Bill of Rights become prioritized? I fought him tooth and nail on the issue of the 2nd Amendment for decades and I'll not apologize for that. Not one bit. Does his son stand for the same "ideals?" Will he step into his father's shoes to continue the fight against OUR rights? A number of politicians sons and daughters have done just that. He stands before the Lord on the strength of his relationship with Christ and nothing more; as someday will we all. I'll not spritz perfume over the body of a fallen opponent. I just step over the still form and continue my own fight until it's MY turn to fall. My friends will praise me (I hope!) and my enemies may reflect on the quality of the battle, even as they step across me to continue their battle. It is what it is and I'll not apologize. I criticized him in life and now that he's passed, I see no reason to change course. 'Course I'm an ExSoldier and my views may not reflect yours. That's the Biz.
