Criminal charges against Planned Parenthood filed in Kansas; clinic ships body parts to order
The Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park, Kansas, has been charged by District Attorney Phil Kline with more than 100 counts of violating state abortion and health laws, including the performance of illegal late-term abortions. Though not the subject of the criminal charges, the clinic participates in a complicated body parts shipment operation. One 24-week female fetus yielded a leg, an arm, a pancreas, a liver, a thymus, and eyes for shipment to eight different researchers. The only way to obtain intact body parts efficiently is through partial-birth abortion.
According to a 1999 price list from Opening Lines, a division of Consultative & Diagnostic Pathology, gonads from aborted babies were going for $550 and a thymus for $100, writes Andrea Lafferty, executive director of Traditional Values Coalition. A review of 29 patient records from the Overland Park clinic produced 107 criminal charges, 23 felonies and 84 misdemeanors. Charges included failure to determine viability for late-term abortions and filing false information with the government. In light of the charges, Operation Rescue president Troy Newman called for suspending federal funding to Planned Parenthood operations nationwide (LifeNews.com 10/24/07).
Planned Parenthoods annual revenue is approaching $1 billion. It receives $300 million in federal funding, and generates $100 million by performing abortions. Since 1970, its affiliates performed more than 4 million abortions, and the rate is increasing. The 264,943 abortions done in 2005 represented a 3.9% increase over 2004. It sold 1.2 million emergency birth control kits in 2005, 26.6% more than in 2004. Meanwhile, breast cancer screenings and prenatal care are decreasing (LifeNews.com 5/6/07).
One concern about Planned Parenthood is that it helps to cover up statutory rape. UCLA student Lila Rose, posing as a 15-year-old who had been impregnated by a 23-year-old man, said that Planned Parenthood staff encouraged her to figure out a birth date that worked to avoid involvement of the police. Rose said all counseling was aimed at encouraging abortion, including an admonition about the embarrassment her classmates might experience from living with a pregnant student in the dorms. She was told she could obtain Medi-Cal coverage for the procedure (LifeNews.com 5/10/07).
Medical Students for Choice is concerned that future access to abortion might be limited. The number of abortion practitioners fell about 37% between 1982 and 2000. Advocacy groups blame pro-life protests and increasing state regulation of abortion facilities (LifeNews.com 5/22/07).

The “body parts to order” for-profit abortion businesses were covered several years ago on a network TV news show. I think it was ABC and Chris Wallace was the reporter. Hidden cameras even.

LIFE Coalition Grand Jury Citizen Petition Effort
November 10, 2007

The L.I.F.E. Coalition Citizen Grand Jury Petition Approved By District Court
JOHNSON COUNTY, KS
The required majority of district court judges have certified the L.I.F.E. Coalition citizen petition to call for a grand jury investigation of Planned Parenthood in Overland Park. The grand jury is expected to be convened on Monday, December 3, 2007.
Tim Golba, spokesman for the L.I.F.E Coalition stated that the concerns of the citizens of Johnson County are being taken seriously.
He commended both the Johnson County Election Board and the District Court for their quick action to allow the process to proceed as soon as possible (both signature verification by the Election Commission as well as the District Court certification of the petition's c ompliance of statutory form requirements occurred in about two weeks).
Golba expressed hope that Attorney General Paul Morrison and the Kansas Supreme Court will also demonstrate the same respect for the law and citizen concerns. He said, "This is a black and white petition request that should face no barriers to the jury convening on the District Court's schedule."
"It will be a shameful day for Kansas if political conflicts of interest are allowed to again interfere with the citizen's right to directly petition the courts."
Planned Parenthood Grand Jury Delayed In Effort to Circumvent Law
November 27th, 2007
Olathe, Kansas - Planned Parenthood was denied their motion today to dump a grand jury that was scheduled to begin an investigation of them on December 3. Johnson County District Court Judge Kevin P. Moriarty (liberal appointed by pro-abortion Dem. Gov. Kathleen Sebelius) then granted Planned Parenthood's request to delay the seating of the grand jury until December 10 in order to give them time to file a mandamus action with the Supreme Court that will ask them to stop the grand jury.
"This is simply a ploy by a pro-abortion judge to give Planned Parenthood time to cause further delays to the legal process," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "Moriarty knew he could not directly violate the law that mandates convening of this grand jury, so he chose to circumvent it by giving Planned Parenthood time to file with the Kansas Supreme Court where further delays can be expected. It has been said that justice delayed is justice denied. We just saw an example of that today."
Judge Moriarty was appointed to the bench in 2004 by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, a radical supporter of abortion who has accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from abortionists and pro-abortion groups. Moriarty is the former law partner of Democratic U.S. Representative Dennis Moore, also a staunch abortion supporter.
It receives $300 million in federal funding, and generates $100 million by performing abortions. >>>

A regular poster on FR has a saying ‘Follow the Money”. It seems very appropriate here!

I don’t think Kansans would appreciate thier state being popularized as one of the bigger
baby parts exporters.
“Welcome to Kansas...you need baby hearts we got em cheap.”
What horror.
This has been going on for sometime, their evil knows no bounds.
Several years ago it was reported and no follow up or outrage but we can hear about some recent murder cases for how many hours days and weeks??!!
Murders in the millions are meaningless as Stalin so aptly said.
Shame on the media!!
