The Pew Research Center finds there has been a dramatic, double-digit jump in the percentage of Americans who believe that the military effort in Iraq is going well. You are the Washington Post. How do you play the story?:
a. You run a front-page story headlined "Study Finds Surge in Positive Public View of War Effort"; or
b. You run a story on page A10 headlined "Military Progress Doesn't Make War More Popular."

MSM spins surge in positive public view of war. Ping to Today show list.
“PU Research” it figures, everything they do stinks!
I actually helped conduct this survey. I currently work for a market research firm part time while in college, and this is one of the many political polls we have done lately.
It’s funny though, now that I work for a company that does polling, I believe polling even less. The respondents are selected well, but it’s random who won’t hang up. Also, a lot of people that have no idea about anything will answer the questions. I was asked by a lady Monday doing the Pew Research Poll what immigration was, Iran was, and what repealed meant. Irony has it, she loved Hillary Clinton.
You can’t blame Pew for this one. They put out the good news, it’s WaPo and MSNBC who are spinning it.
I have to admit that I take a guilt pleasure in skewing polls. I get approached occasionally and when I know who is conducting the poll (and consequently I can guess at the agenda) I will give them honest answers, but, er, interesting demographics.
For instance, in the most recent elections we had a state initiative for transportation (read: light rail) that would have represented the single largest tax increase in our states history (by a huge amount).
Everyone knew that most people - regardless of political persuasion - opposed it. But the state was heavily invested in its passage and wanted to sway opinion in favor of it.
So they polled, looking to gauge opinion of liberals. My answers to all of their questions was a study in conservatism, but my demographics were that of a liberal 30’s hispanic female, (I’m anything but!).
BTW: the Initiative failed (I wish I could say by one vote!)
Yesterday’s MSM story line:
Iraqi’s are going back to Iraq, not because violence is down, but because the Iraqi’s are out of money and have to go back home.
Many people who rely on the dino media, are going to be the LAST to know when there are ANY good stories to tell about the war on Islamo-jihad. FU&K Mohammad!
Excellent!
