Why has Mike Huckabee turned to something akin to the plague by some on FR?
FR postings | November 28, 2007 | Dane

It's amazing, Mike Huckabee is one of the few politicians who would give the time of day to FR,

Gov. Huckabee's Thank you Letter to FReeper

and yet by some on FR they in mindless hyperbolic posts basically compare him to the plague.

JMO, some FReepers prove the axioms of "fair weather friends" and "no good deed goes unpunished" and also "watch your back", very true.

Great list and very appropriate time to post it!

If you believe in freedom

Quote:

The other issues such as taxes, immigration, and especially the so-called "nanny-state" issue - just aren’t that significant or important to me.
That would be a "no" to the "if you believe in freedom" question.

I had no idea her boobies were that big.

I'm sorry, what was the thread about?

Tissue paper and a wire up lifter. LOL

Now back to that socialist huckster.

“It’s amazing, Mike Huckabee is one of the few politicians who would give the time of day to FR,”

There are people with all kinds of motivation who post here.
There are some who are with/(or just strong supporters) of other candidates campaigns who post things to help their own candidates look good. They see this forum as very influential at swaying opinion.

I take postings on this forum that are trashing particular candidates with a truckload of salt.
My choice is down to 3 candidates, and time is slipping away fast.
There has been misinformation posted about both Huckabee and Thompson. It’s up to the voters to get their own facts, and not just read a message board posters opinion.

My husband also support Huckabee. And I would support Huckabee even if my husband didn’t support him, but in this household, most of the time are in one agreement and in one accord when it comes to politics

"Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority," Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter.

WTF? A clip of that could easily offend both ordinary decent Americans ("he's racially divisive!") and bigoted jackasses ("he don't care that them w*tb*cks are replacing us real Amerricuns!").

And Mr. Huckabee is not the only politician to have said that. My own U.S. Senator (who is still in the U.S. Senate) said the same thing during a campaign stop with Bob Dole (when Bob Dole, Bob Dole was running for President).

Then go vote for Huckabee. I’m not, because his positions (outside of abortion) are basically liberal.

Exactly. Like I said, it’s very easy to talk socially conservative, but the government cannot legislate morality — it’s up to each and every individual. I treasure fiscal conservative and freedom first.

“Huckabee is a conservative.”

No, he’s not. No one that advocates open borders, amnesty, and nanny-government control of your life is a conservative.

It wouldn't be racially divisive.

It would be a profound statement of fact. Southern white-man a minority? HELLO???

He's acknowledging our rapidly changing demographics.

And if that doesn't already make you apoplectic... he's also saying the illegal is going to be a citizen someday. ;^)

I believe that President Bush (judging what has done as Governor in Texas and what he has done as President) is more conservative than Mr. Huckabee.
