Senator Edward M. Kennedy has agreed to a multimillion dollar deal with Hachette Book Group USA to pen his memoirs, giving the veteran Massachusetts lawmaker a forum for his own perspective on a life and career that has been examined by others in countless books and articles, negotiators of the deal confirmed yesterday.

Former President Clinton and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair each got a reported $10 million for their memoirs.

I cannot imagine a single person I’d like to read about less than Ted Kennedy.

George Bush the senior was a terrible candidate. He sat at Ronald Reagan’s feet for eight years and learned NOTHING. He was ill prepared to run a successful Presidential campaign. But thanks to Teddy Kennedy and his butt boy Bobby Shrum, they gave “Read My Lips” Bush a chance. They used all their considerable power to get Mikey Dukakis the nomination. A insincere promise here and a little Willie Horton there, and the next thing you know clueless George is in the White House listening to John Sununu and nominating another leftist guy named Kennedy to the Supreme Court. A lot of thanks have to go to Kennedy for the Kerry nomination as well. A lot of bad things can be said about Teddy Kennedy, but he was in large part responsible for two of the three Bush terms. But sadly for Republicans, it does not look like Kennedy and Shrum have a dog in this present Democratic nomination fight. Credit must be given where credit is due, when it comes to picking losers, losers like Kennedy and Shrum have an uncanny ability find their own kind.

Fascinating. I didn’t realize he had enough memory left to write his memoirs.

Memory will not be necesary for this work of fiction.

It will be one of those fake leather-bound books that actually contains a flask of Crown Royal in it.

Helping the poor has been very good for the Kennedys. Like Jesse Jackson, it’s brought them power, MSM accolades, and money.

The Kennedy Memoirs, condensed:

I drank.
I got drunk.
I fell over.

The End.

Chumbawamba did a tribute song to Ted:

“Tubthumping”

Well be singing
When were winning
Well be singing

I get knocked down
But I get up again
Youre never going to
Keep me down

Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away

He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the better times:

Oh danny boy
Danny boy
Danny boy...

I get knocked down
But I get up again
Youre never going to
Keep me down

Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away

He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the better times:

Dont cry for me
Next door neighbour...

I get knocked down
But I get up again
Youre never going to
Keep me down

Well be singing
When were winning
Well be singing
