BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- China published the first picture of the moon captured by Chang'e-1, the country's first lunar probe, on Monday, marking the full success of its lunar probe project.
The white and black picture, in a glass frame, was unveiled by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the Beijing Aerospace Control Center. It shows a rough moon surface scattered with big or small round pits.
The area covered by the picture, about 460 km in length and 280km in width, is within a location of 70 to 54 degrees south latitude and 83 to 57 degrees east longitude, according to BACC sources.
The pictured region is actually part of the highland on the moon and was mainly composed of plagioclase, a common rock-forming element. On the surface spread craters of different sizes, shapes, structures and ages.
"The dark patch in the picture's upper right side shows the surface there is blanketed by basalt, a hard and dense volcanic rock," the sources said.
Been there. Done that.
Sincerely,
America
Yup, that’s it alright.
LOL... White and black... Guess they were out of color film.
....the shadows don't line up correctly.
; )
Welcome to 1968.
Btw, that was a joke. :-)
Welcome to 1968, China!
LOL!, My Kodak Easyshare can do that.........
At this rate, China might actually go to the Moon in 2025.
Beat me by half a minute.
Wow, wouldn’t it be cool if they could actually put a Chinamen on the moon?!
China isn’t going there for scientific reasons, and I doubt that there’s a WalMart there.
What are they doing?
And they would like to thank Loral Space and all the others that made this possible...
Looks just like the ones we’ve been taking for decades, except for the little “©China, 2007.”
How do we know they didn’t just copy one of ours?
The next photo will show a strip mall with a dry cleaners, nail botique and a takee-outee.
Taking “white and black” photos I guess. Every attraction in the world, there’s an Asian with his camera. At least they aren’t taking photos of the local GAP.
......What are they doing?....
They are exploring and expanding their knowledge.
Well, geez, have the polluted it with lead yet?
They’re looking for Shepard’s balls.
