I am not a rabid freeper but I will not vote for Rudy the liberal.

In my opinion, even if we had to choose between Hunter and Hillary or Tancredo/Hillary or whatever....these are all that America can come up with?

Even when Reagan was unheard of in the rest of America, he had better following, better credentials, better organization than any of these guys.

Hunter can't even win a poll of die-hard freepers much less the general population of gimmee-gimmee Hillary lovers.

Wasn’t voting then.
But if they don’t accomodate us, why not?

At one time Trent Lott was a Republican. Today I see only upside to his resignation.

Trent Lott will hold a news conference this morning at 11am at the La Font
Inn in Pascagoula. He will announce his plans to resign his senate seat,
and the reasons why. WLOX News will carry that news conference live on both
WLOX-TV and on WLOX.COM.

Lord Plastic Hair has been the most arrogant disappointment ever served up by the GOP.

Mississippi’s solid red. We’ll keep this one.

Too bad they didn't swap out Republicans several years ago. Lott has always been cringe-worthy, the Robert Michel of the South.

Don’t you mean that Trent was at one time a Dem.

I have never trusted him!

This is a good thing. Maybe, if we are lucky, this time we will get a Republican.

See post 69: Damn if Rush didn’t just now say almost exactly what I just said. He put it like this. “Don’t look at it as losing a seat in the Senate but as an opportunity to elect a good Representative”.

I swear he uses this site sometimes for his show prep, there have just been so many times that he has duplicated a good freepers quote during his broadcast.

I’ve always thought that Rush keeps a close eye on FR and Drudge. I listen to him as I read FR and just about everything he talks about, I had just got through reading here or on Drudge. Aloha

Hardly an analysis. You're saying the second tier candidates suck because they are picking each other off. I'd suggest they can't get traction because people find flaws with them just as they do with Rudy---only none of them have the key numbers he has in BEATING Hillary (again, aside from McCain, in the SurveyUSA polls).

And, no, Rudy is not "defeat." Hillary is defeat, and Rudy is in no way a clone, any more than Bush was an Algore "clone."

The last time the Republican right threw a hissy ft and nominated an unelectable conservative, in addition to electing Lyndon Johnson, they also produced a Congress with a 68-32 RAT Senate and a 295-140 RAT House.

Another one who hasn't heard that the 1964 Goldwater campaign was the basis for the conservative movement of the last 40 years. Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes wouldn't have been nominated and elected without the south which Goldwater brought into the GOP.
