And the others?
If only Catholics (I am one), Evanglicals, Protestants, Baptists, etc raised their kids as well as Mormons and stay with the same woman our country would be a heck of alot better off. Just for his family values, I would be at least satisfied to have him as President. Duncan is STILL my first choice as obviously he raised his children correctly and is married to the same woman!!! Two awesome examples of family values that is for sure.
You guys keep posting pathetic facts!!
Give it up!!

Abortion. marriage. Homosexuality. The things we are fighting about politically in this country and the things for which Giuliani and Clinton are anathema. If it is dogma for which you must reject a man then I daresay there are no candidates to your liking at all, depending on just which particular sect you represent.
You would reject a candidate for dogma? I wrote “values”, like being pro-life, anti queer rights, pro religious expression, pro family, pro marriage. If I had to reject any candidate that does not agree with me on dogma then I would be limited to an Orthodox Catholic candidate. I certainly would not vote for Giuliani. He is Catholic but he does not support American and Christian values. Mormons generally do. For that reason religion is the WRONG reason to reject Romney. That said I do not care for Romney but it has nothing to do with his religion.
You remembered my thread :) Thank you.
Lady, you happen to be one of the most talented researchers at FreeRepublic. Remembered? m’Lady, I pour over the threads looking for things you post because I know they will be authenticated so well!
FC:And where pray tell did he get those assets?
BB: By working for a living, like everyone else.
Umm, the Kirtland bank went belly up for $100,000. Joseph Smith tried to get a salary from his congregation for $1,100 A YEAR, which would have been good money, but he was turned down. Smith obviously had zero ability to pay anyone anything if it did not come from his congregation.
And pray tell, what did he supposedly do for a living? Was he a capenter on the side?
FC:Except the Kirtland bank never was backed with sufficient assets.
BB: No bank does. You get a large enough run, and it folds. They didnt have a national deposit insurance in those days.
You are just not getting it, even back then they knew you had to have assets to back your currency. The Kirtland bank was backed with thin air, it was a scam. Numerous leaders apostasized at Far West on this issue because they weren’t idiots.
::blushes:: Thank you. But I just copy and paste.
That doesn’t seem to have any points contiguous with anything I said at all. That said, I don’t care for Romney and won’t vote for him in the primary. I won’t vote for Giuliani at all.
As you say, "Some times it really is what you bring to the table that matters."
AWWW...BUT, you know WHAT to copy and paste..that’s what matters ;) Good work!
Yeah, I noticed that when I posted...took a look, just in case.
Gee, we REALLY don’t want to see you waist your time.
HMmmm...
I just read that somewhere...

Smith and Young are long since dead. The most objectionable part of mormonism—in the minds of the public— died with the new “revelation” by the Mormon president that polygamy was not the right way. As for the presrnt form of Mormonism, I find it more “Christian” than the theology of the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church. That is to say, the Church of former President George H.W. Bush. So far as I know, he has never said a word about the latest developments.
