SINCE HE BEGAN his presidential campaign, Republican candidate Mitt Romney has held more than 125 "Ask Mitt Anything" town hall forums, and the people who have shown up for them have done their best to make the events live up to their name. There have been questions about medical marijuana, about abolishing the income tax, about Romney's Mormonism and his potential vice president.
Of course, certain topics come up more than others. One is healthcare. Another is Iraq. A third is the North American Union.
The North American Union is a supranational organization, modeled on the European Union, that will soon fuse Canada, the United States, and Mexico into a single economic and political unit. The details are still being worked out by the countries' leaders, but the NAU's central governing body will have the power to nullify the laws of its member states. Goods and people will flow among the three countries unimpeded, aided by a network of continent-girdling superhighways. The US and Canadian dollars, along with the peso, will be phased out and replaced by a common North American currency called the amero.

Oh yes...
It certainly seems that way.
It’s on the last page of the 43 page Congressional summary of NAFTA.
Trolls can be identified by their short, smart elic comments to legitimate posts.
Right. The SPP is just a harmless trade agreement.
The EU was once just a coal trading treaty- the ECSC.
LOL!
The NHL also consisted of only six teams, come to think of it.
Did you have a point to make?
The same kind that was stopped in 1776.
For what its worth, they were openly talking about a “North American Union” when NAFTA was first passed when I was in high school on all the chat shows and in our classrooms.
BTW, while I like Mexico and much of Canada (and the peoples of both countries) there is not a chance in hell that I would EVER support a political union of the three countries.
Heck- the Trilateral Commission was founded in 1973!
Yes, talk of political consolidation is nothing new, nor is it merely the concern of cranks. It is a serious issue.
Sure is. Amazing to me that some here go to such lengths to sustain denial. They’re not stupid- they must have something to gain.
$$$$ at the expense of liberty no doubt.
That can’t be real. The real Amero would have to have the inscriptions in English and Spanish.
I fully agree with most of you here that the United States should not merge with anybody and give up even a shred of sovereignty. What we need to do instead is go into acquisition mode. Instead of "merging" with Canada and Mexico, we need to acquire them and fold them into our system of government. Sort of like how we grew from 13 colonies to a super nation of 50 states in less than 150 years.
This is entirely possible to do by peaceful means. One or two of the Canadian provinces could be lured into the United States and once that starts the rest would soon follow like dominoes. Mexico is a tougher nut to crack, but I think with a little care, we could eventually absorb them into the Union as well. Once that is achieved (and we are talking as long as 50 years), it will be a relatively simple matter to bring the entire Carribean and Latin American countries into the fold.
I believe the Manifest Destiny needs to be extended to the entirety of North America all the way from the Arctic Circle to the Panama Canal. But we need to do it the right way with no concessions whatsoever to U.S. sovereignty.
Bingo!
Shhhh...don't say that. It interrupts the conspiracy-theory orgasm.
So you’re saying that proof of the conspiracy is the very fact that nothing sinister is mentioned?
What if it’s because NOTHING SINISTER IS BEING DONE OR PROPOSED?
That’s like saying denial is a symptom of alcoholism even when there’s no proof that person even drinks alcohol.
