maybe "more embryos created than they feel capable of giving birth to" would make more sense?

"A decade from now, this will be just a funny historical footnote," ..and if President Bush had not funded alternative research so that embryo's would not be destroyed it would have been a Holocaust.

A baby, a fetus, and a blastocyte are different things, the same as an egg, a tadpole, and a frog are different things You are kidding right. They are ALL stages in the development of the SAME organism. Just as infant, toddler, child, preteen, teen, young adult, middle age, and old age are stages in our development.

Different things do not equate to different stage of development of the same individual.

I didn't read this amazing medical breakthrough in the headlines of the St. Petersburg Times this morning.
Why not?

I did my senior paper on Jonathan's work. It really made an impression on me. I've stuck with "Thou shalt not kill" except in self defense all my life since all laws have exceptions.
There is no way that "self defense" can be inserted into abortion "so called" rights.
If women were told...well, we'll have to take off your right arm at the same time otherwise it won't work, would they proceed to have an abortion?

This is about creating “organ stores”. It’s gonna get pricey with the “preservation” necessary. What’s new!!

"Its very fortunate, because this is one of the only things that Bush has held firm on." This statement is surprising, in view of the President's firm stance on the war against "terrorism", aka "Islamic Fundamentalist".
The job of the U.S. President reminds me of a recent "herding cats" commercial.

Did you happen to catch if they tied in this breakthrough to the fact that embryonic stem cells are not necessary any more, that entertainment stars pushing embryonic have egg over their face, that the unborn will not be destroyed by the millions, etc?
Unless the media amplifies in its print reportage or sound bites, the incredible message this breakthrough sends is being reported out of context and a is a whitewash of the liberal pressure and obsessions the past couple years.
Methinks the media is NOT fleshing this story out.....but then, I do miss SOME things when I'm cooking, LOL.

Fox mentioned in some of the coverage, but he's not in the article I linked, so maybe not.
The part I think people still aren't getting is that the embryos used in this research largely are not coming from abortion clinics, but from fertility clinics, where millions of embryos are still languishing in suspended animation, because more were created than could be used, and now their "parents" don't know what to do with them. There was a survey published a couple of months ago that said many parents would rather have the embryos used for research that might benefit someone than just "kill" them or allow their biological children to be raised by strangers. I think that would be a difficult decision to make.
I will add that I don't think too many embryos were created out of any "evil" intents, but simply because sometimes all the eggs are fertilized, sometimes not; sometimes no embryos implant, sometimes too many implant, and we don't have the knowledge to tell which will happen in any given case yet.

My point is, the embryos used for stem cell research don't come from abortion clinics, they come from fertility clinics, and they generally come with the consent of their "parents" It is still the murder of human life, no matter how you spin it.
