PHOENIX (AP) A 9-year-old boy looking for help after his mother crashed their van in the southern Arizona desert was rescued by a man entering the U.S. illegally, who stayed with him until help arrived the next day, an official said.
The 45-year-old woman, who eventually died while awaiting help, had been driving on a U.S. Forest Service road in a remote area just north of the Mexican border when she lost control of her van on a curve on Thanksgiving, Sheriff Tony Estrada said.
The van vaulted into a canyon and landed 300 feet from the road, he said. The woman, from Rimrock, north of Phoenix, survived the impact but was pinned inside, Estrada said.

Is this guy eligible for enlistment in the Armed Forces? If so he could take that path to citizenship. You want people in the Army who are fit enough to walk into the US from Mexico, and have enough character to be trusted with military weapons.
BS
Crossing the border illegally is not necessarily a crime. US Code Title 8 Sec. 1325 calls for civil penalties under various circumstances. Usually a crime is an act which subjects the perp to imprisonment.
I'd like a bit more information here, starting with her maiden and married names.
Oh yeah, the van landed 300 feet from the road......what?
Some of those roads are one lane wide (cars can’t pass each other). She probably went down a ravine. I’m guessing this road is in either Cochise County or perhaps Santa Cruz County.
No automatic passes but he should get some consideration for doing the right thing.

Buy him a new vehicle and have it delivered directly to his home in Mexico.

I’ve been on a few of those roads - it doesn’t take a lot of extra speed to be going too fast. They’re dirt and loose gravel, and it’s easy to skid off the edge.
There’s also a lot of wildlife down there - deer don’t make a habit of waiting for cars to pass by before crossing a road.
Check out Texas - border crossers are being incarcerated. Illegal is a criminal. Period.
Sherrif Estrada is Santa Cruz county. Our sherrif is Larry Dever.
My immediate thought was that he proved himself to be a decent sort of man..I believe if he goes back and applies the right way, he should not have a problem with obtaining a permanent visa...if he passes all the other things...
He is not the average run-of -the-mill illegal alien...
he did something most of the others would not do...
Good grief, I’m not going to give the other illegals a pass just because ONE was a good Samaritan.
No, they aren’t all evil. And a lot of felons aren’t evil, either, they broke the law.
But both felons and illegal immigrants are criminals.

While there's not any love lost here on illegals, my first guess (having driven into many remote areas of several states) would be 'antlered rat' or similar, rather than a 'someone'.
Hitting brakes, especially on a layer of loose sand/gravel/thick dust, while in a turn would be second guess.
“Considering that most New York citizens walk away from assaults in broad daylight, “
Don’t know where your illegal alien promoting self grabbed that stupid lie, but it has nothing to do with this situation anyway.
After coming across an injured 9 year old and walking with him to his mother that is trapped and dying, and then trying unsuccessfully to pull her from the car as she expires in front of her son in the wilderness, and then choosing to stay at the scene until help arrives is not exactly the most shockingly heroic act that we have ever heard of.
Don’t try to turn a border crossing illegal alien that is a decent enough man, into some kind of saintly improvement over the average American.
Your left-wing, anti-American, agenda of promoting illegal aliens is bizarre, but you keep it up.
They won’t have to look too far. Twenty-Five American Citizens are killed each day by illegals. That’s 9000 a year for those playing at home. That’s about three, 911 attacks per year.

Agreed. No Free pass but more than normal consideration. If he does it the right way
