A truly insightful posting. Well done.

When God breathed His breath into us, and gave all mankind an innate and intrinsic awareness of His glorious presence (indeed, it it this awareness that even the most devout atheist rebels against with his self-destructive denial), He performed several miracles at one time. No big surprise, as God is, after all, God.

It reminds me of the first time He opened my eyes as a young adult. I was in a 9th grade physics calss, and my teacher had just made the (to me) astounding assertion that light (as understood in 1970) was composed of both waves of energy and miniscule particles.

I asked him how this was possibe, and he inquired what I meant. I replied that Enistein's theory of relativity made clear that, as mass attains increased velocity, it also attains increased mass.

Following that precept through, were any mass ever to reach the speed of light (the highest velocity attainable in Einstein's overly simplistic theory), it would then posess the mass of the universe.

I know there exist self-important dullards who will argue my interpretation of the Theory of Relativity, but they will only be admitting that they don't understand what Einstein was trying to say when (not if) they do so.

So, I asked my 9th grade physics teacher, why, when we see light, does it not possess all the matter in the universe? It turned out to be a trick question, for as I posed it, I knew the answer.

God breathed His breath of life, and a soul, into us at creation. It's what separates us from other living creatures and even the angels. When we see someting, and it registers in our conscious, it gains the mass of the universe by that simple truth.

Not because of our awareness of it, but because of that tiny bit of God Himself which He planted in each one of us.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Does this mean if we all stare at Hilary long enough she’ll go away?

An attention-grabbing thesis. Can a hefty grant application be far behind?

This is the biggest bunch of scientific piffle I have ever read from a semi-respectable newspaper.

After writing this satire piece, Sunrise/Sunset could be affected by Global Warming, I was a bit hesitant to even post this article.

My favorite sports teams seem unaffected by this thinking, no matter how much I watch. Of course, if you subscribe to "my watching them destroys them", you may be onto something.

LOL!

I just love junk science threads like these. The comments generated from them are priceless!

I have a way out of that, Syriacus——I’m starting a new venture enterprise selling ‘observation off-sets’. The way it works is I hire liberals who agree to keep their heads buried in the sand, thereby freeing up viewing time for my paying customers.

The good news is that bankrobbers, desperados, et al don’t have to take live hostages anymore, they just have to take a lab sample and threaten to look at it.
