Or, maybe we caused it to revert to kittenhood

The English language desperately needs an audible for eye-rolling.

If we look at the Profs, will they go away or at least turn into an Austrian physicists cat?

This is obviously much more important than global warming. We must burn all the books and kill all the astronomers in an effort to unobserve the unobservable dark matter/energy.

Only then, by unseeing what we cannot see, will the be clear path to the future which we could then observe, but probably shouldn’t.

Time for civilization to stick its collective head back into the dark ages.

the theory suggests that we change things simply by looking at them and theorists have puzzled over the implications for years.

Well,I am looking at the author of this piece.

If I look at him long enough he will change.

It is amazing the contortions the various press agencies and media are going to, to maintain a high enough noise level so any good news from Iraq just never seems to have space avaialable.

Yes, the universe was subtly changed by this article.

Electrons were wasted, unless its real purpose was to illustrate the Evils Of Marijuana, or the mental perils of the Solitary Vice.

Time to start looking for an alternate universe.

According to the article, that's how we screwed up our first universe - we looked too hard at it.

Forget about the threat that mankind poses to the Earth: our activities may be shortening the life of the universe too.

And this is a problem because . . . ???

I mean, it's not as if the universe had any meaning or purpose, is it? Hasn't science proved that it doesn't? So how do you condemn mankind for threatening the universe (or even life on earth) without implying otherwise?

Hey, I thought the whole point of the "enlightenment" was that man was the measure of all things! You mean Voltaire and co. were wrong???

Quick! Everyone pluck out your eyes. We need to leave less of a visual footprint on the universe!
