An internal police investigation is under way after a formal complaint was filed against a Utah state trooper who was videotaped Tasering a man who refused to sign a speeding ticket.
The officer's conduct has been called into question after a videotape of the incident was posted on YouTube.
The video, taken from a Utah Highway Patrol dashboard camera, shows Trooper John Gardner using a Taser on Jared Massey during a traffic stop on State Road 40 in Uintah County on Sept. 14.

The video was on todays news even though it was recorded over a year ago. For some reason drivers are attracted to vehicles on the side of the road.
Are you talking about the Houston Texan player.
Man, you gotta problem. You keep referring to the guy as punk punk punk....how the hell do you know who this man was?
He appeared to me to be a decent lookin guy, and his wife was horrified to watch this jack-booted thug shoot her husband with a tazer for a mere traffic citation.
This rogue cop belongs in jail.
Did you miss the part where the cop said, "Hi, you were going a little fast"? It was the first thing he said when he made contact with the guy prior to asking for his license.

No
I did miss it.... and already acknowledged that. My question is I wonder how much faster he was going than the cop car he was following?
Thank you for saying that. That should be repeated over and over. If people lose respect for the guys out there who protect us, and feel that they are not to be trusted, we WILL have chaos.

I like to be behind them. I was driving one day (65 mph) The cop kept slowing down. I thought it was construction. At about 35, I finally went around him. He pulled me over for going too slow in the passing lane. No ticket though. I think he just wanted to look at the cop magnet I drive. He told me it was a shame and a waste of a car for me. We laughed, and I went on my way. He did set me up though.
He wanted his pregnant wife to do it for him, LOL.
I don’t think the guy was particularly smart, however he may have been very concerned about leaving his wife and small child (I think there was a small child in the car, perhaps I’m wrong) out there in the middle of nowhere while he was being arrested and taken into custody.

I'm not sure 'following' is the right word. What usually happens is you're driving along at the speed limit and you see some clown come screaming up behind you. Since people are normally reluctant to speed while they're in the vicinity of a cop car, the first thing you wonder is whether the guy's drunk, fleeing frome something, or just stupid. You pull over, let him go by, then pull in behind him and clock him. That's what you witnessed at the beginning of the tape. There's another version of that routine, which involves exiting at an off ramp, letting the guy go buy, then getting right back on again. They're both time-proven techniques.
"Following" would imply that the guy was just doing what the cop was doing and the cop set him up. I suppose at some point in the history of man that's happened, but it's pretty unusual.
I would be surprised if this guy has been in trouble before. I think he was being rightously mouthy but the look on his face when he saw the tazor and started backing away seemed shocked (no pun intended) like what’s wrong with this guy. I doubt he had any idea he was going to be arrested.
Show 'em the whole thing from the initial contact.
Ok
You’ve posted at least 50 (60 maybe) replies on this thread (obsess much?). You could post 600 and I wouldn’t believe that smartass cop was right in what he did - and I hope he gets shitcanned asap.
The video is there. The back-tazing cop didn’t do his job correctly - he didn’t inform the driver what would happen if he didn’t sign the ticket and he opened the passenger side door (after already scaring the poor wife nearly to death earlier) without consent.
The kicker is that it was an out and out speed-trap to begin with. Typical local yocal revenue-boosting speed-trap. When the common folk don’t fall in line with the no-neck idiot cop, what happens? They get tazed.
Screw that hammerhead cop. I hope he is working at Wendys next week.
In the discussion, the cop says there was another 40 sign back up the road. The one they passed on the video looked like a temporary construction sign. Don’t know what the other one might have been, or even if it was there.
yeah, post your answer. be intersted to hear what they say. thanks
