This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone November 14-18, 2007, among a random sample of 400 Iowans likely to vote in the Republican caucus. The results have a five percentage point margin of sampling error. Sampling, data collection and tabulation by TNS of Horsham, Pa. *= less than 0.5 percent --snip--

And I think it IS a surge considering Fred reversed downward momentum. It means something, and it means something good. It was deemed negatively significant when Fred was polling below 3rd place in Iowa. Not that's he's displaced Rudy for 3rd, it's suddenly not significant to be in 3rd place anymore?
BINGO! WE HAVE A WINNER!!
Well, it's semantics. I would call it moving up a little in the polls. For FT, that's a good thing. But I wouldn't call it a "surge." The use of the term "surge" considerably overstates the actual results of the poll. What we're seeing for Huckabee is what I would call a "surge"--hopefully temporary; but a surge nonetheless.
I am a Fred supporter, but I agree. If this poll is good for Fred, why is it not tremendous for Huckabee?
Allow me!
What did you guys come up with for covering the Judge, Romney care and Push Polling bits?
Yet, this poster INVENTS a highly subjective headline reflecting his spin of detailed polling numbers...a poster who is in 24x7 spin mode. Maybe this sort of thing is why the Washington Post does not like their stuff posted here...it is being twisted.
This distortion should not stand.
You seem to believe that it is a bad thing if a candidate can expand the shrinking GOP base (just as Ronald Reagan once did). Why?
You’ve been on FR less than six months, yet you demand things? You Mittwits are a funny group, I’ll give you that!
Wow! Suddenly ABC is a credible poll. Funny how it was not a little while back. This is funny to say the least.
FoxNews is all about protecting Giuliani. Huckabee has the LEAST chance of surviving a national campaign and thus he is a useful idiot against Romney and Thompson.
Huckabee is doing the job McCain was originally supposed to do until ronpaul was tapped. Ronpaul is an obvious lunatic, so they tried to revive McCain to no success so the left is now using huckabee as their sacraficial annode.
I’ll ask one more time.
At what point does FDT have to emerge as a frontrunner, or at least alone in 2nd place? I’ve asked this question 3 times so far, and so far, no one has had a comment other than to tell me about Huckabees negatives, or in one case imply that I was trying to rip on FDT. It’s a simple question, at some point FDT has to go out in front and start to pick up momentum. When is that point?
First I was skeptical but hopeful about Fred.
Then I was disappointed.
Now I am contemptuous...and it is FredHeads, more than Fred himself who have fed my contempt.
You people constantly turn reality on its head and constantly accuse anyone questioning your absurd spin as shilling for other candidates. You FredHeads are the shills without peer.
You are absurd.
They love an anti-war "Republican", and know he couldn't be elected dog-catcher if matched in a race with the Hildabeast. They'll be packing the primaries just as they are at Ron Paul rallies right now.
To compare Ron Paul to Ronald Reagan is akin to comparing the Hildabeast to a woman.
I have serious doubts about you ever being a Fred supporter of any type, and you are not the first Mittie to play that game.
Anyways, at least we are not putting a RINO in a Conservative suit and sending him out dancing...
And if you REALLY are or have been neutral you would say the same thing about the Mittwits, and then some. We have never called Anne Romney a whore or posted her next to a stripper picture...
It’s the details Serg, the details...
I don’t know the name, I just recall both an article (I think on Politico, though it could have been a post at someplace like Powerline or Hugh Hewitt) and some discussion here by folks from Iowa at the time of the straw poll about the local talk show guy really pushing Huckabee and that being a big reason for his surprisingly high number of votes in that straw poll. I’d have to go back and try to search for those threads to find it.
I though Thompson had/has a south carolina strategy.
Huckabee is betting it all on Iowa and NH. (and he is just a useful idiot to prop up Giuliani)
Romney is just outspending everyone.
and Giuliani has the 9/11 and FNC in my pocket strategy. (aka Hanity shine my shoes strategy)
The campaign is all about counting votes and the vote count for a leftist rino Rhodham Giuliani to win requires a divided opposition.
ROTFLMAO. That surge pointer is just too funny! Thank you I needed this aftter seeing this nonsense.
There’s a split coming amongst religious voters....the ones that want federalism support Fred, the ones that want a religious nanny state support Huckabee.
