Rasmussen: Florida (McCain 48-Hillary 38, FDT 47-38)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 11/19/07 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 11/20/2007 12:17:21 PM PST by Norman Bates

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the presidential race in Florida shows former Big Apple Mayor Rudy Giuliani with a modest lead over Senator Hillary Clinton of 46% to 41%. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney leads the former First Lady 46% to 39%. Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson has a nine point edge 47% to 38% while Arizona Senator John McCain leads by ten, 48% to 38%.

These numbers flip the scenario Rasmussen Reports witnessed in an August poll of the race in Florida. Then, Clinton enjoyed a five-point edge on Giuliani and double-digit leads over Thompson, McCain, and Romney. Another change: today a lot more voters prefer a third option and express support for Some Other Candidate.

(snip)

Clinton is viewed favorably by 45% of Florida voters, unfavorably by 54%. Thompson is viewed favorably by 56%, Giuliani by 58%, Romney by 52%, McCain by 51%.

Well we can only conclude that in Florida it’s ABC (anybody but Clinton).

Seriously, these polling numbers are too good to be true.

Therefor I am skeptical.

Such head-to-head matchups at this point, before the general election campaign has begun, are still completely useless, even when I like what they say. :)

Now all we need to do is shore up Ohio or flip Wisconsin and it's over.

Oh wait, we are a year away...

If Fred wins FL by 9 points, and assumed his popularity is equal among like-minded types nationwide, we’d be looking at a 45-state landslide.

So there’s no point in me voting it would seem - Hil loses in every race.

LOL. The Witch can't even poll 50% in head to head matchups with him....

After the disaster of the last two weeks, people in Florida have a decidedly new look at Hillary. Also, Fred's SS message and McCain's not defending the 'b_tch' comment have resounded with the retirees.

Just speculation, but chances are, fairly close.

That's a little too much Kool Aid assuming for me.

And this kind of makes me suspect about the whole CNN/WMUR New Hampshire poll. How can a guy (Thompson) go from such horrible numbers to such positive ones?

Let's see he'd then win em all but: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, & (California, Jersey, and Maine would be close)

Well, to be fair, that was a primary poll of NH voters only, and this was a state matchup in Florida of Hillary vs. *select Republican here*

New Hampshire is like a high maintence girl friend, if you don't pay her a ton of attention, she runs off with Mitt Romney....
