DIAMOND BAR, California (AP) -- Authorities were investigating the disappearance Monday of three grandchildren of Southern California Rep. Gary Miller.

The children were reported missing at about 1:30 p.m Monday from their Diamond Bar residence east of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.

Investigators were looking into whether the children were taken by their "non-custodial mother," said sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Aura Sierra, referring to a parent without custody rights.

The children's parents are divorced and appeared to be in a custody battle, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported on it Web site.

More often than not it’s one of these custody battle situations.

Hope the children are OK.

Good guess.

Awful. Just awful. If these kids are being used in a custody battle, that’s just the worst.

I need a little break from this kind of thing. I just came from a thread where someone is arguing that illegal immigrants be charged as a capital crime, now someone else concerned about the politics of the grand father of two missing children.

So it is okay to kidnap a democrat’s grandchildren but not a republicans?

You won’t be around long with that attitude.

Rep. Gary Miller is a Republican.

Does he still reap what he sows?

“What’s this guys’ record on family values issues? Is he a Dummiecrat? You reap what you sow sometimes.”

Yeah, let’s blame the congressman’s politics. BTW, he’s a Republican, which was REAL easy to find out. But maybe he’s a RINO and we can still blame his family values. Maybe his grandchildren are dead. That would really show him if his “family values” aren’t good enough for you.

In case anybody missed it, I’m being sarcastic.

I didn’t say it was okay to kidnap a D’s kids but not an R’s. I’m saying a lot of crime and other terrible things are the result of the permissive attitude on social issues endemic in our society today. When divorce is the norm and children grow up bouncing from one parent to another, these are the kinds of things that can happen. And I was questioning whether Rep. Miller has spent his career fighting the forces that tear down our society or whether he has contributed to that disintegration by supporting things like no-fault divorce, gay marriage, easy abortion, etc.

Non-Custodial Mother?

You need a PC decoder to translate most stories anymore. She is probably simply the mother who couldn't afford a better lawyer than the father.

Nope -- he's (R) ---

why would a kidnapping of somones Grandkids be less of a concern due to their political convictions ...

since you seem to be concerend w/ "family values" I would think your attitude would be more "Christlike"

Get a clue or DIAF...

Sorry to disappoint you, but in California, the mother has to practically be lying in the gutter with a needle sticking out of her arm to lose her kids.

Well, His NRLC Rating is 100

His NRA Rating is an A

As a matter of fact it looks like he scores pretty damn well w/ Family Values/Conservative issues across the board... Project Vote Smart

I guess (your)G-d is trying to tell him he's not trying hard enough ... at least that what you are implying ...

although maybe it's G-d's way of telling him to stop trying to impose a Socialist Conservative Nanny State ... I could go with that ... (but I wouldn't be that pompus, pretentious, or self-important to assume that)
