Good evening, everyone.
Late entry tonight. Oh well.
I've got plenty of hours of Old-Time Radio shows to listen to. Some of them were comedy, though not really a lot. I have some Lucy in "My Favorite Husband", some Jack Benny, Abbott & Costello and Amos & Andy. Didn't care much for The Bickersons (which have been reincarnated, sort of, as "The Lockhorns" in the comic pages).

There ya go!
We’re doing a potluck at work tomorrow for those who are leaving town. I’m bringing in a crock pot of candied yams...marshmallows to go on about 10 minutes before serving.

Good evening, HJ....I’m hoping the young ones have studied some of the great things Bob Hope did.

I’ve never tried a fresh bird...
I usually end up with mine in a pan of water trying to hurry it along.

Carole Lombard. Unfortunately, she died in a plane crash in Jan 1942 on her way home from a war bond drive. Her husband ,Clark Gable, went on several missions over Germany.

I had a great recipe for a sweet potato caserole and don’t know what I did with it.
It’s the hazard of having a superabundance of cook books.

While waiting for the train in San Luis Obispo earlier this year, I was listening to tapes of "Fibber McGee and Molly" shows from 1946 in my lady friend's car. Some of the material was hilarious, especially the shtick about McGee's closet.
I got a kick out of the names of some of the characters. The mayor was Mr. LaTrivia, and the water commissioner was Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve.
There was some sharp writing in those days.
