Even some of our conservative journalist friends who are headquartered and work in the northeast, in New York and Washington, are willing to overlook, in some cases, the lack of genuine conservatism in some candidates because they're from the northeast. They have a geographical bias because of where they live. People in the northeast think it's at that it's the heartbeat and the pulse of the country there, and the rest of the country is flyover country and all of that. Rush is obviously referring to Rooty Toot and Romney here.

It’s still early but my feeling is that Duncan Hunter will gain some ground - if we continue pumping $ into his campaign - and will become a major contender the closer we get to nomination day.

As much as I would like to see Rush push some folks, I wouldn’t like to think that a guy won the top spot just because of him. It’s up to a candidate to develop their own organization, desiminate information, develop financial support and traverse successfully through the process.
I’m willing to listen to opposing views on this, but I think doing these things demonstrates the ability to lead. Getting a good recommendation from Rush really doesn’t.

Rush does not need to imply that Rudy and Romney are liberals. Their records prove they are liberals.

if rush really wanted to push hunter, he could.
I mean its so obvious that hunter is the ONLY real conservative candidate!
what is Rush waiting for? I pray not only rush, but others like dobson, etc would get off their butts and endorse hunter!
To: wagglebee
Both are, at best, Rockefeller Republicans. A couple of years ago that seemed to be terribly anachronistic but look here we have two of them at the top of the party. Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. At worst they are a a Rockefeller Republican and a law and order Democrat.

Rush is obviously referring to Rooty Toot and Romney here.Did he mention Romney by name? If he did, I didn't see it.
You're making more of this than is warranted. Maybe Rush does think Romney is more liberal than Hunter. It doesn't follow that he would be disappointed if Romney were the Republican candidate. You could just as easily conclude that Rush is super-impressed with Romney's energy, focus, and intelligence because he didn't cast aspersions on how Romney got to be a front runner (like he did Giuliani and Hillary).

I cannot read Rush's mind, so I do not know what he meant. But it does appear Rush did put out a ping to stop the less than conservative candidates from the northeast. He could have meant ALL the liberals from northeast....all three of them.
FReepers know the media will vote near ninety-eight percent democrat. So maybe Rush meant ALL three from the northeast, except he only mentioned Clinton, by name. I hope Rush will clarify.

I heard the call. It was encouraging. Even though Rush is adverse to endorsing Duncan Hunter for now it was still a worthwhile call to just have Duncan Hunter's name mentioned on national radio. We need more calls to Rush and other radio shows.

I dont quite understand how people can vote for someone that says he is a conservative and ignore his history. The only person running for the presidency that has a history of conservatism is Duncan Hunter. Hannity for some reason will back a liberal named Rudy. I dont know why because Hannity claims to be a devout Christian. That would impress on to me that he is against killing an unborn child. Yet, he gives air time to Rudy. Rush wants to stay away from backing anyone, but when he states his case against Hillary he is actually giving airtime to her or to anyone that disagrees with him.
Anytime someone appears on a talk radio show it is advertisement. Much more than can be paid for. Glenn Beck had Duncan Hunter on for an hour. He had Huckleberry on for an hour. I would like to see everybody get an hour so we can make an educated guess as to which presidential nomination we want to choose. I really, really, dont care what Hillary likes best, Diamonds or Pearls (CNN).
