America’s standard of living is going to hell. Get ready for homes next that resemble 900 square foot dog houses 15 inches from the neighbors home.

I'm turning 35-37 combined in a 2007 Mini Cooper S. 175 hp and way more fun to drive than a SMART. Nice. I'm going to have to go test drive one. I've heard nothing but good reviews about how fun the Cooper S is to drive.

My 2002 Z06 Corvette gets over 30 MPG on the highway (yes Mildred, over 30 MPG)
(and I look a hell of a lot better in it than in one of these things!)

I wonder how this baby will hold up when it gets banged into by a Hummer or an Escalade.Or even a VW.

I’m sure that your roomie bought a Suzuki but it was not a Jeep.

It became unreliable and the repair bills didn't make sense, so I switched to driving my 1994 Saturn SL2. It gets 34 MPG on a long (San Diego<->Pocatello) run. A Mini would be a nice replacement for the 914. Certainly easier to maintain.

I could drop $17,000 on a Camaro and get 24MPG with some balls of steel.

If memory serves, (law school 35 years ago) in a copyright fight, the courts held that Jeep with a capital J was a trademark of Kaiser-Willis, which became part of Chrysler, which was sold to to M-B.
jeep with a small j was held to be public domain, however. Again if memory serves.
Please file the above in useless, unconfirmed information.

Why doesn't Honda make the CRX anymore? I had one in the 80's, and it got 50-55 MPG The new (post 1980) EPA regulations that have been piled onto cars and trucks have killed engine efficiency along with the required safety devices that add weight were something your CRX never had to contend with. 41 mpg is about all you can expect anymore from a gas burner.

I agree it would be a good city car, but I live in the land of the F350 and won’t go smaller than my Nissan Frontier (4 cyl, 2WD gets 32-33 mpg)
