So somehow the the stirrings of a Communist plot to pogrom Jews in Russia via Stalin was transferred to McCarthy’s hearings into the depth of Communistic Jews in the US?

Some probably believed that a pogrom/gulag was in the offing—but that they were saved by the vigorous/resolute anti McCarthy work of democrats/liberals/leftists/communists.

I disagree. Everyone has a narrative map by which they view the world. Sometimes the narrative map is well thought out. Sometimes not.
While somewhat young, and not politically astute, I do remember the term "anti-anticommunist" being used a lot during the 50's and very early 60's. It was a term of derision used by the leftist intelligentsia of NYC in those days. I recently read Norman Podhoeretz's "Ex Friends," and it brought it back to me quite vividly.
Not when the voting block for one party with a race is 90%. That is Lemming mentality.
They do act rationally if you understand that many Jews view the Republican Party as the Christian party.

C-SPAN will re-broadcast a program with M. Stanton Evans tonight (midnight ET), talking about his new book on McCarthy. He goes into the misrepresentations that have been foisted on the public, including in that movie “Good Night and Good Luck.”
I don’t know how Meir Kahane gets dragged into this. He despised the lemming like democrat loyalty of the Jewish community. He did not regard all American Christians as the enemies of the Jews. He feared that there was plenty of untapped anti-Semitism, which without vigilance, could blossom into a serious danger to the Jews of America. I remember his pointing out a bumper sticker which appeared at the time of the 1973 oil crisis: Burn Jews, Not Oil. One has only to go to a few of the hate sites like Vanguard or even look around at what the left is saying these days to know that anti-Semitism is alive and real in America.

There certainly was the belief that there existed a Christian — to be more specific, Irish Catholic — witch hunt against the Jews, led by Joe McCarthy and his young lead counsel, Robert Kennedy. One young Jewish lawyer argued that McCarthy’s staff should have a prominent Jew to head off that charge — and that’s how the odious Roy Cohn landed himself a job.

All true. But Meyer was a warrior. My point was that a warrior needs a war. Meyer wasn’t getting a war from the USA. So he turned his attention elsewhere.
I strongly believe that part of the reason Jews vote ~80% Democrat is due to declarations by some Christian conservatives that the US is a Christian nation. For parts of the Jewish community this is viewed as antisemitic and a prelude to excluding Jews from legal protection.

In order to have a persecution complex, it helps to be persecuted, and Democrats make for easy targets!
