Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things
in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ
to God, even the Father.
Give us grateful hearts, Gracious Lord. We are so blessed, and yet we always want more. Make us content with all the beautiful gifts You shower upon us, for in contentment lies true happiness and joy. We pray that we would present sacrifices of thanksgiving to You every day, Father, for this is Your desire for those who call You Lord.
We ask You to strengthen the Church to be faithful as the Body of Christ, and let our families be strong in their commitment to You. Give us faith in the unfailing certainty of Your Word, and help us to share the good news of the Gospel throughout this nation and the world. We pray that our military families would draw on Your strength as they support their sons, daughter, husbands, and wives who are serving this nation. Help them to wait in faith for their safe return. Father, we boldly ask for complete and lasting victory in Iraq.
We pray that our President would continue to be filled with Your wisdom, knowledge, instruction, and understanding through the truth of Your Word and through the moving of the Holy Spirit in his life. Help him to enter Your presence with trust, knowing that You will provide for him the answer to every question he faces. Give him the Spirits power to discern Your will in all things. Enable him to speak wisdom, Lord, as You impart Your righteousness to him. Fill him with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that he may walk worthy of You, Lord; that he may please You; that he may be fruitful in his work; and that he may grow in his knowledge of You. Please be his wisdom, his righteousness, his sanctification, and his redemption. Help him to know how to respond to those who oppose him. We ask You to grant rest to him and Laura this weekend. As they bow before You, please inhabit all their prayers.
Pour Your mercy and grace upon America, Lord, for we need You. Please visit us in a mighty way and may all Your purposes be fulfilled. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

READ: 1 Corinthians 15:42-49
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross. Hebrews 12:2
In 1728, a young Ben Franklin composed his own tombstone epitaph:
The body of B. Franklin, printer, like the cover of an old book, its contents worn out, and stript of its lettering and gilding, lies here, food for worms. Yet the work shall not be lost; for it will as he believd appear once more, in a new & more beautiful edition, corrected and amended by the Author.
In this epitaph, the wry wit of Franklin, the colonial Renaissance man, rings true to the biblical view of resurrection. The bodies we now possess are prone to aging, physical decline, and ultimately death. But the resurrection of Jesus Christ holds within it the promise of a new supernatural body raised in glory. The apostle Paul tells us, The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power (1 Cor. 15:42-43).
As life takes its course in the aging process, we have the hope of a new body that will far outshine the original. Despite our aches and pains, our destiny belongs safely in the hands of Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb. 12:2).
Dear Lord Jesus,
We thank you for all your Blessings and Salvation. We pray you would guide this Country. Be with our President every day.
In Jesus Holy Name
Amen
