Here’s a better and more detailed link to recent arrest:
“Mexican Drug Smuggler Shot by Border Agents Indicted on Drug Smuggling Charges
Friday, November 16, 2007
EL PASO, Texas
The arrest of an admitted Mexican drug smuggler shot by a pair of U.S. Border Patrol agents is prompting renewed calls for the former law-enforcement officials’ release from prison.
Osvaldo Aldrete Davila was arrested Thursday at an international port of entry in El Paso; a sealed indictment issued in October charged him with drug smuggling offenses.”

Americans hate gross injustice.
This new arrest. The sham trial. The fake crime. The illegal alien issue that BELONGS to Hunter.
This is the ideal time to start a roaring fire.
A march on Washington led by a California congressman.
This is it. He should ride this horse, he should ride it now, and HE should be the one who leads.
He should NOT wait for someone else to get indignant, and makes a statement supporting them. He should NOT send another letter to the president. He should NOT ask for a coffee hour with the keepers of power.
He should go freakin’ ballistic.
Time to saddle up Captain.

Laura Ingraham - Sub-Host for Bill O'Rielly, Representative Duncan Hunter, Tara Setmayer - Communications Director for Representative Dana Rohrbacher
Jose Campeon - Former Border Patrol Agent, Campeon and Inacio Ramos - Former Border Patrol Agents, Osvaldo Aldrete Davilla - Narcotics Runner, Johnny Sutton - U.S. Attorney
Larua Ingraham hosted this evening's show. Representative Hunter and Communications Director Setmayer were guests on this segment.
The discussion centered around the unjust nature of the prosecution, conviction and sentencing of Campeon and Ramos. Davila was the drug smuggler that one of the agents shot.
Johnny Sutton was the U.S. Attorney that seems to have played fast and loose with the implementation of justice in this case.
Ingraham, Hunter and Setmayer were stridently supportive of pardons for Campeon and Ramos. Sutton took some hits in tonight's presentation. It sounds like he deserved them.
Setmayer represented Representative Rohrbacher's office nicely. She seems to be a sound conservative, at least as it applies to this case. I was favorably impressed by her.
Thanks to CrippleCreak for the post and Sun for the ping.

Duncan Hunter interviewed by Laura Ingraham. Awesome. If that was on every night, I would dig out the rabbit ears and start watching TV again.
As with everything else, Hunter not only has a conservative opinion on the subject, not only a "here's what I'll do if you elect me," but he can talk about what he's been doing about it for as long as the issue has been around.

I remember Fred being asked about it a long time ago, and he said something about not knowing the details enough to comment. Just the opposite of what you get from Hunter. If you want to know the latest on Ramos and Compean or if you want to know the full story, just ask Duncan Hunter. And that's not the least bit of an exaggeration. And that's how he is on most issues.

Imagine if we went to war over Taiwan. Suddenly China starts receiving increased orders for parts and bullets.

For the most part I have defended President Bush, but the way that he has handled this situation has disturbed me. I cannot for the life of me understand why he has not pardoned these guys. Bush needs to do the right thing.

While I’m sure all will raise their hands now, when asked at one of the early debates: “who would pardon Compean and Ramos?” only two raised their hands....Hunter and Tancredo.

I like Laura, but I think she sold out MM by taking her job and not standing with her.

Bush do the right thing like he did when he nominated Harriet Miers? Or when he promoted amnesty with Ted Kennedy? Bush LEFT us months ago.

The others were probably thinking “who?” and preparing to tap dance around it if cornered.

Setmayer represented Representative Rohrbacher's office nicely.
I was very impressed by her, too, when I heard her on the Glenn Beck show talking at greater length. She seems to be very knowledgeable about the case and other issues surrounding the border. She said she's even been called a "racist" by the pro-border folks. It figures.
