Barry Goldwater, Jr. Endorses Ron Paul

Barry M. Goldwater, Jr. endorsed Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul for president.

“America is at a crossroads,” said Mr. Goldwater. “We have begun to stray from our traditions and must get back to what has made us the greatest nation on earth or we will lose much of the freedom we hold dear. Ron Paul stands above all of the other candidates in his commitment to liberty and to America.”

“Leading America is difficult, and I know Ron Paul is the man for the job,” he added.

Well, he votes against it some of the time and he votes for it some of the time. But he says he's against it.

Now you're sounding like the moronic Thompson bashers.

I’ve never been a member of the Libertarian Party. I’ve always voted Republican.

Ah - I knew I could track you down here. Did you see that Ron Paul won the Fresno straw poll? That place sounds familiar - hmmn?

Whatever they are doing, they are doing. But it would be hard to form a cogent argument in support that anyone in Iraq right now is a threat to our national security. If they are a threat to our national security, then I say we nuke the bastards into submission.

When it comes to to our nation’s security, i.e., the safety of our families, friends, and way of life, then the gloves come off imo. The wrath our enemies would see would be so great they would never ever think twice about attacking us again.

I truly believe Ron Paul would protect us from our enemies, i.e., an enemy who is actually a threat to our national security. Our being the United States of America. Threat being actual physical harm.

You just proved that you are anti-war; i.e., you support RuPaul.

How long have you been Libertarian?

Cut to the chase: the RuPaul campaign is disruptive to the best interests of this Nation. He has no chance of winning even the nomination, let alone the #1 job, so the intent is only to disrupt.

The liberals and the liberal media love him. What more need be said?

What more needs to be said ? Simpy suggest a candidate running who has more conservative values than Ron Paul.

As a reminder:

“Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We’re working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!”

The terrorists in Iraq are now less of a threat BECAUSE of the success of this year’s troop surge, under the brilliant leadership of General David Petraeus. Ever heard of him?

Obviously, you have not followed developments. Yet, you benefit from the service and sacrifice of our troops.

“Nuking the bastards” is not a solution to anything anywhere. However, it is what Iran plans to do to Israel and to us; Iran is a VERY REAL threat.

What does your beloved RuPaul say in regard to this? Hmmm?

What do you mean, “a reminder?” Is that a threat? Are you trying to claim this forum for RuPaul?

I do oppose continuing on both Iraq and Afghanistan, but I am not opposed to war when it is justified under the Christian principles of “just war”. I can’t support the use of our military for nation-building.

I’m a Republican. I’ve never voted for a Libertarian party candidate. I do not consider the so-called front runners to be true Republicans. Insofar as your claim that liberals love Ron Paul, some of the vicious attacks on him that I have seen have been from liberals.

Iran still isn’t a threat to us. They are a threat to Israel. Even if we step up and decide to defend Israel, that’s still not our national security. Iran has no more ability to nuke the USA than does Russia, China, North Korea, or Pakistan. I brought up *OUR* national security, and you bring up Israel’s security.

If we’re that concerned about *OUR* national security, then we need to find a way to prevent *ANY* nukes from getting into our country. Obviously, the nukes would have to come across some border. I’d recommend we lock our own backdoors as a priority. Then, we can go around locking the backdoors of our friends. Got to have priorities.

I will say one thing more and that will be it. I am surprised to see how anti-war sentiment is being tolerated more and more on Free Republic.

Yet, the supporters of a Republican candidate who would be strong and sure in defending our interests in the War on Terror... namely Rudy Giuliani... have been systematically silenced and purged from this site.

Have a nice day, everyone.

I’m claiming that this is a conservative site. And I’m claiming that it has been infiltrated by folks who support the war, but are not actual conservatives. They feel that just because they support a war, then BAM, all of a sudden that makes them a conservative.

I’m not about fighting wars with the same type of political correctness that you suggest. When we put our soldiers in harm’s way, their safety has to be the number one factor. Ron Paul, imo, would agree with that, and use greater force that our current leaders have, in the event that our national security was threatened.

You feel it’s ok to lose a few American soldier’s lives each day to IED’s. I’m sick of it, and would’ve supported carpet bombing every single city, THEN drive into it. Why ? Because a threat to our national security gets a response so great that the threat has no chance of arising within at least the next 100 years.

Our soldiers deserve more than they have been given. Ron Paul would, and can still, fight the war on terror with more vigor, and place the necessary fear in our enemies.

Another Giulianite bashing Paul.

Listen, Rudy is a pro-abortion gun-grabber. Paul is a pro-life advocate of the 2nd Amendment. You can always go and join the retards over on Clown Posse 3 if you want to bash Paul and worship Rudy.
