I think we need to stop convincing ourselves Hillary can't win. Unfortunately she can. I'm not quite so pessmistic as Armey, but she has a real shot in a political environment that is awful for the GOP right now. Polls that show 50% won't vote for her don't hold up when she's matched against the GOP candidates, against whom she either beats or in one case only basically ties or slightly loses. We need to stop the squabbling amongst ourselves, the tired "RINO" labelling, and threats of third party candidates or not voting and unite, or we're going to be looking down the barrel of far left wing extremism having total hold on the government. Sometimes it's better to take a plate of 75% of what you want, than a buffet of bulls--t like we'll get from the Clintons.

I know, some of you will call Armey a RINO, he's not, but he is the last fiscal conservative we've had in a position of governing power in the GOP. He is worth listening to and not easily dismissed.

I'm telling you and everyone here this woman is too unlikeable. I'm still not even sure she'll get the nomination. There isn't enough woman in this country to vote for her, "Just because she's a strong woman." In fact many woman see her as "weak and fallible." Think about this, the ones she has to convience are independents and there is no way in hades she going to win the majority of their votes!

In politics anything is possible, but she is worse than finger nails on a chalk board and everyone know it. If anyone votes for Hillary they are actually voting for Bill, but I think he was done a long time ago.

I’m sorry. I don’t buy the idea that Hillary has a chance. I don’t know whether people like Armey and Gingrich are trying to scare conservatives to the polls or what, but I really wish they’d stop with this nonsense. The bottom line is that Hillary doesn’t have a prayer unless there is disenchantment with the Repub nominee and a viable third party candidate.

This is true for all candidates except Rudy.

With Rudy the GOP only gets about 10%.

Rudy is a non-starter.

Hildabeast can and will win. All it will take is a nomination of a NE liberal Puke like Rooty or Mutt.

I don’t really believe she can win based on any sort of platform or strategy she comes up with.

If she does win, it won’t be because of Rudy, or Mitt, or Huckabee or whoever.

It will be because there are so many stupid/ignorant Americans who will fall for the free lunches or vote for Bill through Hillary, or because their friends are doing it.

You can’t fix stupid. If she is nominated, and there are enough stupid people in America, she will win. It won’t matter who the GOP puts up.

Come here Girl, we're going to make you a star.

Does anybody on this forum believe that Julia Roberts is the most savvy, beautiful, charming, actress this century?

Or that Brad Pitt is God's answer to Spencer Tracy?

Hillary Clinton is NOT the issue! She's an empty suit with less to offer than most intelligent people on Free Republic.

But she CAN win. She is the specific selection of a cabal far more savvy and calculating than she could ever be, the matrix. And she certainly is intelligent, ambitious, and ruthless enough to be used, just like Julia Roberts! And of course a female President IS their agenda.

How many people here, or anywhere, leave various movies crying? How many people here, or anywhere, laugh when canned laughter in an inane TV show tells them to laugh? How many people here watch the same tired played-out football strategies over and over? How many people here, or anywhere, can second guess the contorted plots of spun movie scripts?

The sheeple, perhaps many on this forum, and certainly many many more in the brain-numbed world, ARE manipulated. "They" know how to manipulate people.

So she CAN win, just like people are force fed, and accept, the fear of anthropogenic global warming. It has little to do with her. It has to do with people incarcerated by their own ego's, and those who know how to take advantage of it.

Here at the Institute we call that sickness "Lefego."

"Sometimes it's better to take a plate of 75% of what you want..."

There would be no argument if there were a plate with 50% of what many want. Unfortunately, we're talking about getting nothing from the Democrats and somewhere around 10 - 15% from Giuliani. That's going to really excite people into going to the polls and voting for the Republican party.

Armey fooled a lot of people while he was still in Congress, but since leaving has shown his true colors. One thing he's correct about is the Republicans sinking back into their perpetual minority, Bob Michel days, exactly where they belong considering their recent behavior.

Republicans need to return to their Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan roots.

In a more succinct version: principles over party.

And pushing the GOP to the middle with Rudy McRombee is not the way to do it. If you abandon core principles, the party won't matter. Plan and simple.

The only way the Republican party will beat Hillary Clinton is to return to its limited-government roots.

National defense conservatives have become enamored with the idea of using Big Government to smite those they beleive to be America's enemies.

Social conservatives have become enamored with the idea of using Big Government to smite those they believe to be God's enemies.

RINOs have become enamored with the idea of using Big Government to give goodies to the the Democrat base in the hopes of stealing their votes.

The Republican Party's only remaining limited-government roots are the Ron Paul-supporting/libertarian-leaning 10%...and they are getting reviled and driven out by all of the Big Government-loving smiters and panderers that make up the rest of today's Republican Party.

So Dick Armey is 100% right..but there is almost no one left in the Reagan Republican Big Tent who will listen.

Hillary’s minor stumbles in last week’s debate notwithstanding, she is simply running the most disciplined and effective campaign.

Translation: She operates her campaign organization like a Mafia Don and will destroy any candidate that doesn't have a private army.

Unfortunately we are not looking at getting 75%. It’s more like 20% or even 5% with Giuliani.

I think Mr. Armey is dead on. The Clintons would not have been elected in 1992 without the discipline of Hillry, doesn't matter how slick slick is.

This election Hillry is consumed in winning alll for herself that highest position on this planet is well planned, networked and financed.

Republicans have sought to emulate liberal politicking and they call it the Big Tent what they have become is a circus, and they have demonstrated that anybody can rise to the level of Ringmaster no matter who they are or what they believe.

Armey’s not a RINO. He’s just stupid, and in desperate need of a glimmer of the attention he once received when in office.
