One would certainly think so looking at the American government today. A mighty sad state of affairs. What we need is far less government and way more God in our lives.
This would be an excellent start in that direction.

if an atheist get elected we always get atheism rammed down our throats in the form of the “establishment clause”.

it doesn’t say that a governor of a state cannot freely exercise his religion. if he’s praying in his office and asks for help in praying he’s not demanding it, nor is he mandating a day of prayer. he is engaging in free exercise of religion just as an atheist governor worships himself in his pretense of intellectual superiority and demands that those around him abandon their religious beliefs through his denigration and belittlement and allegation that the “establishment clause” is being violated when there is no “establishment clause” in the constitution.
(ask an atheist if he holds karl marx and the “scientific method” in high esteem; the answer, invariably, is yes.)
Wow, I had no idea Christianity taught people to judge their fellow man in this way. What happened to "Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself"? I'd love to hear you cite an example of an atheist elected official anywhere in the US who has demanded that people abandon their religion. I for one, as an atheist, would fully oppose any official trying to pull that crap.

Odd. Prayer has often resulted in practical solutions to my problems.

Christians are not the one whom they worship. they are human, as i am, with the ability to be fed to the brim with people hiding behind everything they can find as they become more and more obnoxious in their self-aggrandizing stance as the most brilliant of beings. you consider anyone of faith to be weak and without merit and devoid of worth; especially Christians. you have no tolerance for them and couch your dislike in condescending tolerance. if atheists had the chance, they would turn churches into warehouses.

When did I say or imply that? I think true Christians are great people. Your constant judging of other people and bearing false witness against them makes you far from acting as a true Christian.

I would note that, following the prayers for rain by the Governor and others, that there was indeed rain a couple of days ago, although perhaps not enough to end the drout.
I understand atheists’ non-belief. I don’t share it, but I can understand that mindset. I tolerate, but disagree with, them. What I don’t see is similar tolerance on the part of many atheists who post here and elsewhere. This country is composed of a majority, a vast majority I would say, of Christians and other believers, and they are free to believe and exercise that belief freely. I never understand objections by atheists.
