Why the Ron Paul Campaign is Dangerous
NewsBull ^ | November 11, 2007 | JB Williams

I hate wasting this much press time on Ron Paul. But the Paul campaign is becoming a real threat to the Republican primary process and if allowed to continue, he will take votes away from the most conservative Republican candidates in the party, not the most liberal. This is bad for the party and the country.

(snip)

So, how Republican is Republican candidate Ron Paul?

If he’s funded largely by anti-war leftists, from Democrat stronghold districts and counting on Democrats, Libertarians and members of the Green Party to win the Republican nomination, not very…

>I don’t see RP as conservative at all, just libertarian and isolationist in the style of a Pat Buchanan.<

I disagree because Liberals don’t put their life’s work into getting the UN America out of the UN.

Hunter and Tancredo are the other two that I really like. Tancredo for whatever reason isn’t getting the backing I expected he would, the same with Hunter which is a real shame. Thompson doesn’t really impress me but he doesn’t offend me too much either. I guess I just don’t really trust him.

I am angry that I voted for Bush the 2nd time. I knew better but did it anyway.

If you can’t get national security right, you won’t be trusted with anything else.

Ron Paul is suicidal on national security. Any Republican can sell the smaller government plan to Republican voters. If Ron Paul could sell those ideas in Washington DC, he would have at some point over his 30 year career in Washington.

Get a clue...

Nobody here is against smaller government and for Hitlery. We’re just not for Bin Laden either. We’d rather blow up their stuff than our own.

almost like history IS repeating itself.

It’s their Mantra and determination that amazes me. They want reality to bend to their wishes. I’ve seen them use twisted rationalization to stand by their positions. I often wonder if they have a firm grip of reality.

and Specter is your example of a conservative?

Ya know, loyal Democrats are free to support candidate across gthe aisle in any general election. Leftist can vote for Paul if they want in the general election.

How do you think it’s okay for them to nominate the Republican nominee though?

Do you really not understand the significant difference?

“I disagree because Liberals don’t put their life’s work into getting the UN America out of the UN.”

Conservatives don’t tend to be career politicians either. But, I didn’t say liberal, I said libertarian. They are similar, but not the same.

I think Tancredo has a personality problem. People just don’t like him it seems, even when they agree with him.

Hunter is the one I can’t figure out. He was my early pick, until he just failed to connect with voters. I really have no idea why still.

I agree with and trust Thompson. I just wish we had caught him when he was 55 instead of 65. 65’s not too old, unless the candidate himself things so.

I haven’t met too many wise folks below the age of 65... LOL

“I am angry that I voted for Bush the 2nd time. I knew better but did it anyway.”

You would have rather voted for Kerry, or stayed home and let him win?

Still dodging the questions and name calling I see.

I would never report ya. I want everyone to read your nonsense and watch you squirm your way out of answering simple questions...

Now THAT’s pathetic! keep going though... The longer you talk, the more pathetic you look.

It’s their Mantra and determination that amazes me.

I think the Loyalists said something similar about another minority batch of rowdy ragtag Revolutionaries a couple of centuries back, Brother Duck. ;^)

Don't hate us, man. We're on your side of the fence, that should count for something. In fact, some of us have been here longer than you have, but we're not suggesting that you belong elsewhere, or that you're a noob, or are anything less than welcome.

Keep an open mind and your powder dry, Duck: a little change from time to time can be a good thing, and remember that the roots of our nation and our party reach far back into rEVOLutionary days when Liberty and Freedom were more than catch phrases, they were words to live by and, if necessary, to die for. If we get nothing more out of this little Ron Paul shindig than to shift Rudy or Fred or hell even Duncan a little more toward liberty and a little farther from "benevolent" tyranny, then it's all been for the good, don't you think?

Do you think you are missing out on something equally astounding and important to your life as those things you mention our grandparents did without? Get where I am going with this? Are we pushing our luck running the same bloated government or is it a successful formula that you don’t mess with?

JFK would have been so nice! His lovely wife Teresa stumbling out on the Whitehouse lawn in her bath robe carrying 3 beers. What might have been. Sigh...

And just like Ron Paul, one of his largest donors is George Soros.

"Show me the money" WRT Ron Paul being a recipient of Soros funding.

To me you hire a guy like Ron Paul to fight Reagan’s fight to roll up some unnecessary Cabinet level agengies. Let his branch of the Republican party take the political flak from trying to do the things Reagan wanted. Would the rabid dog take some power piece like gawd I don’t know head of the GAO hahaha.
