Two of the more interesting assessments of Republican campaigns in Virginia I've read come from Patrick Ruffini (who admits he's more of a national politics guy)...

Instead of applying blunt force on the immigration issue in a diverse community, you zero in on the illegal immigration-related quality of life concerns that 90% of the electorate can identify with, like the scourge of MS-13 gang violence in the region. Were I running in Northern Virginia, I wouldn’t mention the words “illegal immigration.” I would talk exclusively about MS-13, and about working with ICE to deport every violent criminal in the area illegally. This is the fatal mistake that ex-prosecutor Jerry Kilgore made in 2005 — and the GOP candidates this time around didn’t do much better

Dane, people are sick and tired of fifth columnists who seek to support the illegal alien invasion of our nation.  You are nothing more than a usefil idiot leftist when it comes to this invasion.

You front for people who do not respect our laws, think nothing of flooding our schools with their children displacing those who pay the taxes to put their kids in them in the first place, but can't.  These folks are forcing an undue burden on hard working U.S. Citizen families, These folks are destroying our health care facilities almost single-handedly.

Communities that were upscale and very nice looking twenty years ago are now gheto no go zones, trashed and dangerous.  The families inside these zones don't speak English.  Even their kids are as proficient at it as last generation immigrant children were.  They don't have too.  Large areas are now essentially foreign soil.

This is what we have to deal with every day.  And you sit there and front for this like the explitive deleted you are.

Shout you down?  You're damned right folks do.  People who spend their lives trying to observe the laws of this nation, and it's sanctitiy and sovereignty get a little touchy when someone like you pulls the things you do.
