You know where there
should be a massive conversion to hybrids? NYC taxis. They spend 75-85% of their day sitting in traffic belching fumes and wasting gas. It's the ideal environment for a hybrid.
Mayor Bloomberg should hold a contest for automakers to design a Hybrid Taxi. Then force all taxi operators to convert. Sell the old cabs off to other cities that aren't as gridlocked.
Think of how much quieter and cleaner the city would be, and how much gas would be saved. Then they should disable the horns.

Several Duesenbergs, but I didn’t count them. He said they were only built in one year but took eight years to sell because of the Depression.

I’ve haven’t read his column. His segments on the website are great. He filmed one while I was there regarding the natural gas Civic.

It’s going great. I’m on a Bakersfield talk show today to talk about HILLARY! UNCENSORED. We are hoping that the word keeps getting out there and we can get Hillary to about 57% negative.

I don’t know why they left off diesels. Diesel is going to make a big comeback.

Yes, NYC taxis would be the ideal use.

Where’s the rest of the list? No SUVs, sports cars, exotics? The variable displacement technologies that GM and Chrysler are using need to be included here.

I have one too! Tungsten gray w/ a black top and gray interior. Lotsa chrome.
Nothing sounds better than downshifting that bad boy into second gear on the interstate and blowing past the crowds. The exhaust is tuned so perfectly.

I’m sure there are other lists. When I saw that gas was $5 somewhere, I thought this one might be interesting.

Since these data are from the federal government, I wonder why they don’t also include accident fatality data from the NHTSA Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS).

I’m sure that’s available. The specific point of this was gas mileage.

I was probably being a little too subtle. My point is that fuel economy is directly proportional to fuel economy. Higher fuel economy means higher fatalities. High fuel economy truly trades blood for oil.

The Saturn Sky Redline will blow the doors off the Miata. The EPA estimates for the Sky RL are 19/28 (city/highway). With mine I routinely get 34 MPG on the highway at 70 MPH.

I would have thought so as well, but then I noticed that the Prius is considered a mid-size and it effectively knocked the Camry out of contention.
The new Accord being just large enough has moved to the next size class and is the winner there.
Personally I still would compare the Prius to the Civic and the Camry to the Accord even though they are in different size classifications according to the govt.

If the Honda Accord is a Large car, I wonder what a Crown Vic is?
A barge?
BTW My family car is a 1992 Crown Vic.Well tuned it will get 26-29 mpg on the hwy. To get better mileage you would have to buy a smaller car.
