Sadly, right now Robertson reminds me of that deraugatory Mad Magazine caricature of a TV preacher more concerned with filling his own coffers under a pretext. Robertson has strayed from principle and done an already suspect credibility great damage.
“Pro-abortion advocates need to stop attempting to run for elected office as “conservatives,” and promote their culture of death within the confines of a more appropriate party.”
Exactly.
So, I take it that my not-becoming-a-god stance is a bit too stubborn of resistance for you to take, eh? (Oh, & I said that w/ a whisper)
Time to give up on Hunter. He isn't running an effective campaign, and he isn't going anywhere this year. Perhaps his son will have better luck inheriting the congressional seat.
You need to visit your uncle Beelzebub and ask him to take a file to your fangs and sharpen them. They’re dull and, lacking arms, it’s understandably tough for you to keep them pointy and effective.
Just to refresh your memory -- John Kerry was running at 4% in December of 2003, exactly where Hunter is in the latest CNN poll... The NATIONAL polling has more utility in shaping public opinion than in measuring it - and I fear you've fallen prey to it. The primary process, OTOH, takes place at the local level.
Now... how about helping instead of complaining? We need more helpers and fewer complainiers - let's get busy! :-)
Thanks. I had forgotten that I was the “spirit of the antichrist”.
I’m not voting for the liberal 11th hour convert to conservatism.
If Crist supports Rudy, no shocker. He’s a RINO himself. Though he doesn’t have half the influence of Jeb among the voters there, not that I have the slightest clue who Jeb would align himself with.
Either the GOP nominates someone with a conservative record or they can lose the general. Maybe in 2012 we can finally get a conservative to run, like Palin.
I thought Pat had Romney speak to his school, and wasn’t really opposed to him.
But who knows with Pat.
I was shocked when I heard... and extremely disappointed. I have always given Robertson the benefit of the doubt, and I don't want to think the worst, but this makes him look like just another phony, and hypocrite. Also - what he did was damaging to Christianity. I've been reading what non-Christians are saying, and in their minds, this confirms to them what they already thought, that Christian leaders and evangelists are phonies and hypocrites... which reflects badly on all Christians.
I'm beginning to wonder if the end is near.... and I'm only half joking on that!
Well-said. I swear on CNN tonight it sounded like Wolf was trying to goad Buchanon into running for President. I have no doubt that would make Wolf’s day, but it didn’t sound like Buchanon would have any of it.
National polls are useless during the primaries. What matters are the early states. To keep the money flowing, a candidate has to win one, or finish strong in several. Where do you really see Hunter making a mark by mid February?
NH is shaping up to be Romney - Rudy, Iowa will probably be Romney - Thompson or Romney - Huckabee; South Carolina is Romney - Thompson at this point, but may shake out Thompson - Romney.
Most mormons I know don’t ascribe to what you are discussing. Or at least it’s not germaine to their faith.
Kind of like most Christians would be unaware of most Old Testament stories (I’m NOT comparing those with the myths of Mormonism, just noting that most people of “faith” don’t really delve into the details.
At this point I am focused on doing what I can to make that happen. All cards are on the table. The last thing to do at this point, however, is to give up. Things are just getting started, and this is going to be one heck of a ride.
Nobody listens to anything I say, so I doubt I’d be that much help.
Anyway, I am seriously in the camp of “candidates have to sell themselves”. I can do the footwork, but I’m not the messenger.
I don’t remember seeing anybody from the Hunter camp circulating petitions in our committee to get on the ballot in Virginia. I’ve signed a Romney and McCain form, and saw a Rudy form.
I’d like to see Hunter catch on, to get some national buzz, if for no other reason than he has a good message and it would help republicans for that to get out.
Plus it would strengthen him as a possible VP candidate.
LLS
There is absolutely no reason to trust what Guliani says. None. A man who would pay for his daughter’s abortion is not one I trust to appoint the right judges. Period.
>It’s time to give up on Hunter.<
People are tired of Madison Avenue phony slickness. They want a gutsy guy with the right answers, the courage of his convictions, and the conservative voting record to stand on.
You just ain’t seen nuthin’ yet! Hunter is on CNN with Glenn Beck for an hour tomorrow. Finally the exposure he deserves. And he’ll be buying TV spots in Iowa this month, too. As hidden and ignored as he has been by the MSM, he’s up to 4% and rising! When people get a gander at the real McCoy tomorrow, his rating will hit unexpected heights! :)
