Jane, sorry you were attacked that way. While I disagree with your p.o.v., it wasn't like you were advocating something heinous. Posters should've been able to refute you without going ad hominem.

This is a wonderful site (and I'm grateful for it) but it can get a bit rough. Most of us I think have been slapped around a few times on the pettiest of disagreements. Just seems to be human nature for people to go overboard with the ad hominem when they have the cloak of anonymity.

Be thankful you're a conservative, because on leftist websites they're insanely malicious and obscene to boot. At least FR's mods don't permit that here.

Hey Thanks - some people have emailed me with the same sentiment - I should learn to be a more thick skinned I suppose. In the future I’ll keep my POV to myself on emotional issues ...
