Google is run by anti-democracy fascists. Look what they did in China. I needa different search engine: Any suggestions for a non-geek?
I use Goodsearch. It pulls a penny per search from Google and directs it toward the charity of your choice. Mostly lefty charities, but I support the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes. Hope more Freepers will join me! You’d be surprised how those pennies add up.
Yahoo and MSN search are popular as is ask.com ..
“This is not the first time...”
Bump, keep up the good work. You’re more than famous now.
If you're referring to the imprisonment of a Chinese dissident, Yahoo was the party involved.
viral video phenomenon *-?
It couldn’t be any worse than viruses the Slickmeister has or had.
Check out ASK!.com - a wonderful search engine with lots of cool features that otehrs *should* have. I got tired of Google News that deems any liberal blog a front page news source, especially if anti-Bush or anti-Gop.
Ask! also gives you opportunity to ‘mouse over’ sites and see a quick snapshot of the link. Very cool! You can replace it as the default search in the upper right hand corner of Internet Explorer.
Hi Doug, You’re fighting the good fight. Keep the faith.
That is positively nightmare-inducing...
http://www.scroogle.org/ uses Google results ...Google does not profit plus your IP and online activities are not tracked or logged.
http://www.dogpile.com/ my favorite uses Google, yahoo, Live and Ask. Good results listed.
http://www.altavista.com also very good results listed.
last two have images, video, news, audio etc searches.
Oh yea check out http://www.windseek.com/advanced
I will be posting this elsewhere, and sending out an email on the subject.
Maybe something will finally stick to that damned commie.
I never was a big fan of irony.
Scroogle Scraper
You will love this: make refdesk your homepage- "http://www.refdesk.com" without the quotes. It has directions in the upper left to make it your homepage, and it has many search engines listed. Much of what you will want to know is right there. Let me know if you keep it.

From another non-geek: Try dogpile.com; it’s a meta search engine - it searches about 6 - 7 other search engines, including Google and it’s super fast.
I did a comparison search on the different search sites - put in "Knights Templar" in each - Ask. com blows them all away - over on the right where GOOGLE run ads, Ask runs thumbnail photos of the search subject with further links!
THANKS!
