On the second day of his official visit, French President Nicolas Sarkozy met again with President Bush, this time at Mount Vernon, Virginia, the historic home of our first president, George Washington. There the two leaders discussed the War On Terror, including Iran, and made themselves available for questions during a press conference at the estate.
President Bush: Mr. President, welcome. Thank you very much for coming here to Mount Vernon, and thank you for coming to the United States. I think it's safe to say that you've impressed a lot of people here on your journey. (Transcript)
Before arriving at Mount Vernon, President Sarkozy delivered an amazing speech to a joint session of Congress.

Bolton just fried Colmes. I surely love that man!
I think the reason I'm so jazzed today is that all day, I heard men (and women - Kathleen Willey) with backbones, standing up for what they believe in...showing courage and not backing down.
Evil's got another thing comin' if it thinks that its going to win in THIS country!

That’s all I know LOL
Except “Esca vous avec moi”
And tres bien!
And I think I got that wrong :)
Kathleen Willey was good. She wanted to tell her story!
I think we better pray for her.

This is just soooo huge, so symbolic, so wonderful. It makes you feel the energy of our independence and all the courage it took. It makes you appreciate our wonderful history.

Hey hey...this is a family Dose ;-) Yes, I think Kathleen could use prayers.
What we all need to take away from this is what both Sarkozy and Willey are doing. The courage they are showing in the face of those that are evil. It's really inspiring. We need to stand up for what we believe in--especially if others can do it right in front of our eyes. They stand to lose so much and yet...they do what is right for the right reasons. I just love days like this.

President Sarkozy: We need France to be stronger. I am determined to carry through with the reforms that my country has put off for all too long. I will not turn back. I will implement all of them, because France has turned back for all too long. I have come to present to you today a France that comes out to meet America, to renew the covenant of friendship and alliance that Washington and Lafayette sealed in Yorktown. Together, let us be true to their memories. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I say this to you on behalf of the French people: Long live the United States of America. Long live France. Long live French-American friendship! And now I am proudly eating French fries again! lol
In fact I might even drink a toast to President Sarkozy avec du vin Francais!
