Robertson endorses Giuliani, Weyrich endorses Romney, Dobson says stop the madness, vote third party

Robertson endorses Giuliani, Weyrich endorses Romney, Dobson says stop the madness, vote third party. Limbaugh sits on the sidelines but appears to be willing to accept the worst without so much as a whimper. This is what happens when a conservative party loses its way. Conservatism takes a back seat to liberalism. Conservative leaders start endorsing pro-abort liberals and RINOs because they're "electable." Conservatives flee to third parties or stay home in disgust. The party self-destructs.

Like the kid finding a pile of manure in the living room: “Great! There’s a pony here somewhere!”

Pat Roberton used his dad’s connections to get him out of the Korean war (he was assigned to Japan instead) so I have little use for him. If Dr. Dobson wants to ruin this country, he’s on the right course, and I can’t figure out Paul Weyrich.

Jim Robinson, can I ask who you are leaning towards?

Yeah, I’ve pretty much had it.

You either believe in conservatism or you don’t. We’re not without a conservative option. Instead of fighting the Liberals they surrender to liberalism.

We all know who the phonies and Liberals are running, and yet “conservative leaders” don’t want to call them out.

My take? Many in the “leadership” have been corrupted. Time to spit them out.

I guess the real question is whether we need self appointed “leaders” anymore. Judging by the amnesty battle, I’m saying no.

I’m not in the mood to play follow the leader. Either support a conservative or say goodbye to any claims of influence.

It’s a big story. It remains to be seen how it works out, but it certainly looks very damaging.

The point is not the Evangelicals should not vote for Rudy in the election. The point is that Rudy should not be NOMINATED, because Evangelicals wouldn’t vote for him.

By endorsing Giuliani now, Robertson is increasing the danger that the stupid faction of the Republican party will nominate him, and the party will then proceed to self destruct.

This whole business is a huge surprise. Robertson has put his foot in his mouth before, but basically meant well. What on earth is he thinking now? You can’t achieve good by endorsing evil.

Perhaps Rush remembers how his ratings doubled when the Clintons took office the first time.

Limbaugh sits on the sidelines

He could make a real contribution by actively opposing Rudy, but I doubt that he will. I'm really afraid that he might even be quietly supportive of Rudy because of Rudy's position on taxes. I'm not sure that Rush has ever had really strong feelings on many of the important social values at stake.

I think Limbaugh is doing what he always does: he does not anoint. He has never given his primary pick. That is consistent, at least.

Jim, what don’t you like about Thompson? I think he is pretty conservative.

I think Dobson’s issue with FT is the Defense of Marriage amendment. I’m not sure where Jihad Ron stands on that one.

The thing is, if Dobson is looking for a pro-life, pro-marriage, true-blue conservative, why isn’t he getting behind Duncan Hunter and shouting it from the rooftops?

You obviously don’t know. The rank and file here at this site is on the record as saying they would rather have Hillary for 8 years than have Giuliani. If Guiliani is the nominee they say they will vote third party or stay home. Isn’t that special?

Unfortunately, some in the "conservative movement" seem so desperate to support someone who will keep Hillary out of the office, they are ready to jump off cliffs. We have yet to have a primary vote cast - only the media is "casting votes," errrrr reporting "poll" numbers as though they were news.

As to Rush, I think it's less about him having a "ho hum" attitude than not desiring to sway his vast audience at this point from "listening to the messages."

A feat that is pretty difficult as the media is intent on drowning out only those voices they wish to be heard, like Hunter.

The media are always telling we primary voters, who is in their "top tier" and who really doesn't matter, so they need to get off the stage.

Nope...wasting a vote on a liberal GOPer that loses to Hillary is nonsense.

And a truly wasted vote

Americans voting for Thrid Party candidates do not lose elections....bad political choices by the political parties are the problem.

Its sad to see conservatives backing “liberals” for the nomination in hopes they can beat another liberal.

True leadership is committing to a conservative and backing that conservative.

I am beginning to wonder if these so-called “Christian” leaders are beholden to illegal-alien backed money? The fact that Hunter and Tancredo are true conservatives...but receive no support...and are the strongest on the illegal-alien issue

Whatever you do, don’t cross Big Jim Dobson.

You will be declared “not Christian.” He’s THAT powerful!

Since you know Norquist, that reminds me of a joke that I have halfway written. It goes like this:

Ralph Reed, Jack Abramoff and Grover Norquist all walk into a bar........

....now all this needs is a punchline.........

I’m not sure where Jihad Ron stands on that one.

In the last debate, FraudPaul said the government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all, that is a church issue. The other candidates gave him the oddest look and Mitt took him to the cleaners (I don't endorse Mitt but he did have a good comeback.)

I'll see if I can find the transcript.
