Seventy-seven percent (77%) of American adults are opposed to making drivers licenses available to people who are in the country illegally. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 16% take the opposite view and believe that undocumented immigrants should be allowed to get a license.
State surveys in Virginia and Kentucky show similar results.

Wow, this is potent. The Republican nominee has a tailor-made issue.
And yet most of the dem nominees placate to the minority.
Only 77%?
The other 23% percent are illegal or the Barb Boxers of the world!
I have visions of 270 Democrats in Congress all suddenly rushing to be seen in the “no licenses for illegals” aisle, purely for theatrics.......
Just an aside, if illegal aliens were ever allowed to get drivers license wouldn’t the PC term “undocumented immigrants” have to revised.
Would they now be “semi-documented immigrants”?
(Or could we just to go back to “ILLEGAL ALIENS”?)
Now for the fun part! We get to watch the 16 percent shove it down the throats of the 77 percent. Minority rule!
The other 23% ARE illegal immigrants.
Yep, they tried (and still are) with Amnesty.
Al gore threw his support behind Dean a week before the Dean scream and total meltdown. This enforcing the belief that Al Gore had the worst political timing.
We now have Queen Hillary showing the same tendency. Someone on her staff will probably be Fostered for not informing her that "77% Oppose" drivers' license for illegal aliens.
Should we call this the left-wing Spitzer/Clinton conspiracy? Wonder what job she promised him if he pulled it off.
What the people want doesn’t matter to all dems and some Republicans (Bush).
How Did the Clintons Miss the Polling on the Driver's Licenses Issue?
This issue transcends party.
As for the answer to the question, isn't it obvious?
Note to the Toons: This is what you get when you surround yourselves with sycophants.
Would have been higher if they had use the word illegal instead of less accurate “undocunmented”. Nice to know though that most Americans know the two words mean the same thing.
A the “ safety issue “ is a crock. What if they don’t pass the license exam they will suddenly NOT drive? How does issuing a license make us any safer?
B the insurance issue is even easier. Go to no fault. I have MY policy, if you don’t it’s your tough luck.
The remaining 23% are Hillary’s core voter group. Hopefully people will remember this next November. Can’t count on MSM to keep this alive.
