"Note to republicans: You want my vote in the general election (and campaign cash) give me a conservative or forget it. I'm a conservative long before I'm a republican." With all due respect, and reference to my tagline, I still believe that the republican party apparatus will not allow a Hunter candidacy. None of the conservative hopefuls have, or will receive in future, support from a party that is so much more comfortable with Rudy and would likely run and hide if faced with another RR.

(Go ahead, vote for Hunter, you know you want to.)

I don’t think they were comfortable with Reagan either. The party can only control so much. And that’s our opening.
George the elder was the fair haired boy in 1980 IMO. Reagan addressed the public directly and the party had to sit back with it’s collective jaw on the floor.

But they were going to shove amnesty down our throats, too and they haven't managed that yet. McCAin has even had a conversion. They need to hear more from the 'loud people'.
