he was in Cambodia before he was in Viet nam or is it the other way around? Oh well....

Oh yes. And he spent Christmas in Cambodia on a secret mission for President Nixon, even before President Nixon was President. And that mission was even more secret because it was for the CIA. That mission is seared, seared in his memory.
