may be the second-most significant global warming pollutant after carbon dioxide and ahead of methaneThe author is either ignorant or a liar. The no. 1 greenhouse gas is water vapour and CO2 is a distant second.

What happens when you have a big volcanic eruption?
That's right...the climate cools.

Black carbon, noted Dr. Bond, adds 2-3 order of magnitude more energy to the climate system than an equivalent mass of CO2 because black carbon is an extremely good absorber of visible light. While carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere for decades, it absorbs just a small amount of infrared radiation. Never mind that! I demand to know what you are going to do about the dread water absorption bands Water vapor absorbs at 0.6 µm, 0.72 µm, 0.82 µm, 0.94 µm, 1.10 µm, 1.38 µm, 1.87 µm, 2.70 µm, 3.20 µm, and 6.30 µm.
Well??? Well? WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT THAT??

Back in the 1970s one of the schemes to combat glow-bull cooling was to cover Antarctic and Greenland with carbon black to absorb more sunlight.
With the rate temperature is dropping these days, we will need more glow-bull warming to just keep warm. RSS MSU: October 2007 was 2nd coolest month in this century. At this rate, 2007 will enter the record books as the coldest year in the last 100.
Keep in mind that NASA has had to reduce the recent 2000-2007 temperatures, and now the 1930s are the warmest decade on record. Maybe the 1975 predictions were right all along. The sun stays stuck at zero sunspots, a good sign of the coming ice age :-)

Reduced air pollution and increased water evaporation appear to be adding to man-made global warming.
Research presented at a major European science meeting adds to other evidence that cleaner air is letting more solar energy through to the Earth’s surface.

There is a great irony in remembering all the environmentalist wackos in the 1970s with bumper stickers on their Volvos and vans that said..”Split wood not atoms” since what they were advocating was putting far more pollution into the atmosphere than any nuclear plant. However, dihydrogen monoxide is a far more serious greenhouse gas and the Democrats in Congress should seek to ban its use.

Mature film aficionados anticipated a new era; restoring all the old thrills and chills dampened by so many years and so many fireballs. The documentary approach with its long and proven history was seen anew as a technique filled with unexplored potential. That is until Al Gore came along.
