I admit, I occasionally forecast what I think will be an upcoming outrage. I take what I know about the left, factor in past events, take a current event, and try to prognosticate an explanation.

I made such a prediction a few weeks ago in Racist lefties and their nooses: A likely outrage. Provocative, and yet strangely, it felt like a no-brainer.

Well, they haven't wrapped up the noose cases yet, but we do have proof now of another leftoid nut faking hate crimes, this time swastikas at GWU:

Could I still be wrong about the nooses? Of course. However, we may get a very similar confirmation on the noose cases sometime soon. If Columbia stops stonewalling, of course.

You're absolutely correct, especially if we are thinking primarily of people on our side, and people in-the-know generally. However, there's a bunch of people out there who are on the other side, or who are under-informed about the nature of the left generally (or these sorts of stories in particular). Those people might see such a prediction as a priori partisan hackery.

That said, I do see your point about the semi-oxymoronic nature of those words.

I am usually skeptical about these things and often the skepticism proves justified. The noose at a Columbia professors office also makes me suspicious. These set ups are way too easy and reap giant political benefits, even when proved fake. Noose Story:

I can't remember the last time one of these nasty-graffiti incidents on a college campus was staged by anyone other than a member of a "designated victim" group who felt their "oppression" wasn't well enough publicized.

It reminds me of the advantage that terrorists have. It takes months to build a building; it can be knocked down in 30 seconds. It takes millions of dollars and thosands of man-hours to create public order and safety, but that safety can be shattered by a lone sniper. It can take years or even generations to build trust between two groups of people, but that trust can be shattered by a single incident.

It is a truism that it is easier to destroy than to create. If it suits someone's goals to create chaos, anger, and dissention, it is easy to do so. It is much harder to build, but the terrorists have no interest in building anything.

The left, while not as far gone, is possessed of the same general need to sow chaos, anger, and dissention. This means that the left enjoys this same advantage....the same advantage enjoyed by the terrorists.

Here’s my wierd take on this.

Is GWU another one of our glorious liberal anti-American anti-Zionist universities? If so, then maybe this student was just testing the reaction by the university leadership. How did GWU react? Did it take the swastika seriously or did it ignore it?

I don’t know if I’m condoning what the student did. But if the student was trying to bring in some attention to anti-Semitism or anti-Zionist on campus, then maybe we should listen and find out more.

During my stint in the U.S. Navy, I had this type of situation occurr numerous time. Once, a black sailor who did not want to go on a “west Pac” cruise poured lighter fluid on his rack, (mattress), in the design of a cross and lit it. This was on the day that we were scheduled to leave port.

The blacks on the crew almost started a riot over this incident. The Commanding Officer asked me,(the Chief Master-at-Arms, (ship’s COP)), if we should transfer this sailor off the ship for his safety. I told him no.

Upon further investigation, I got this sailor to admit that he did this himself to avoid being away from his wife for six months.

So when I first read this story, I was suspicious. Apparently correctly.

I ponder this very concept often and think of it as the difference between the Light and the Dark. The Dark 'seems' powerful because of the tremendous destruction it can cause. But that Dark power to destroy relies on and is limited by the Light's power to create. Can't destroy what hasn't been created. The Dark is powerless without the Light.

Newbie, your take is indeed weird. She did it multiple times and was finally caught on a hidden camera. Trying to use pop psychology to figure out why she did it is a waste of time. Charge her with a hate crime since she also put a swastika on other doors. And kick her out of school.
