Actually, the only way you could see that Edgar Bergen was a terrible ventriloquist was by watching him on TV. But his sense of humor took away his shortcomings. He was fabulous, but apparently couldn’t make a puppet talk without moving his lips or tugging at the puppet to make a small distraction.
But FOSTER BROOKS had to be the very best comedian. There wasn’t a bit that he did that didn’t make be laugh till I started crying. EVERY bit was funny.
