>>>>>Get it straight,,I will vote for any republican who runs against Hillary.

I was right. You'll vote for the liberal, gun grabber, amnesty backer, gay activist and abortionist, Rudy Giuliani. Not the position of a conservative.

Tim Russert used my question for Candidate Bill McBride. He blew the answer cuz it was a loaded question to begin with. What I did for Jeb. Those were the days. On my blog I call myself "an escapee from political activism".

This grassroots stuff can't be taken too seriously but a little effort is better than none.

I'm for DUNCAN HUNTER too. He's got military background, common sense, intelligence and he's really pro-life, not a flippedy-flopper.

So your suggestion is we just let ole Hill walk in the WH rather than vote for any republican?

I am an American first and conservative second. And America does not need HRC.

“...being Chief Cheerleader at Yale gave President Bush a leg-up on getting folks at his campaign rallies excited.”

I’ve always had the same thought.

Funny how God uses our life experiences to prepare us for our calling.

... slow, clear and controlled by Fred Dalton

You know, that's absolutely true, though I didn't notice it at the time maybe because I so rarely watch Russert. But toward the end of it, I found myself puzzling over why Russert was going so easy on him.

Could it have been ... fear? Because it's true -- Thompson, not Russert, controlled the exchange. Usually, no matter whether the guest is liberal or conservative, Russert lords it and the guest is like a performing seal. Thompson's simile to trained seals earlier this year is pointedly apt.

I’m sorry Tim Russert messed up your question.

If Duncan Hunter was on the show, he would set Russert straight, and Hunter’s honesty would come through.

It would take a lot of Hunter supporters contacting shows to get him air time, so please tell your friends who might support Hunter.

Glen Beck is going to give Hunter a full hour on his tv show, but the date hasn’t been determined yet, last I heard. Also, Glenn Beck has received a lot of pro-Hunter calls, and Beck likes Hunter himself.

Either tonight, or next Sunday, Duncan Hunter will be on Bill Cunningham’s (Drudge replacement) radio show.

But I'm not sure there is anything about his delivery that people are going to find very compelling.

That was my take also.

You have to have confidence in the people of your State to be decent God fearing people ,if they are not then at least you have the freedom to move to where they share your views . This is the very foundation of our country . Right now you have no choice what so ever because Washington has spoken and that is it.

You ARE a Player with a capital P!! WELL SAID!!! It's what I like best about Thompson and LEAST about the other candidates. Thompson is consistent and actually has a platform built on a philosophy rather than a list of positions on cherry-picked issues.

Aw, gee, THAT's a big surprise! *rolls eyes*

Sorry. I'm tryin to like the guy. I tuned in. I watched. I'm not shilling for anyone. Seems like Fred's our only hope of a good, winnable conservative. Doesn't mean I have to pull the wool over my own eyes.

Thank You for the transcript, I did miss this part, and I appreciate it. I do think that obviously the MSM is holding this back for some reason. What reason I don’t know, but if Fred did release all of his test results in Sept or Oct I didn’t see it, did you?

The only mention I found on google was back in April, in which his doctor says that it is incurable, and likely to return.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/04/11/thompson.cancer/index.html

If you can find any more recent remarks from his doctors let me know. This tells me that either the MSM isn’t interested in the info he supposedly sent out in Sept, or they have decidecided (like so many other good news items)that they aren’t going to report anything but bad news.

I was thinking the same thing about snugs and her well-known and understandable love for Cheney.

However, Cheney looks better than Fred for his age and has age appropriate children.

But I just like Fred’s looks and since my own husband had a non-age appropriate child, I have no problem with that.

Like many people, you have an irrational fear of Hillary.

I’m not about to throw away my conservatism so you RINO`s can feel better. Fact is, America doesn’t need Rooty Toot either.

My support and my vote goes to Fred Thompson. The most reliable and viable conservative running.

Using your logic, Bush 41 and 43 were not electable. Americans have different perceptions and views about what they want in their leaders. We saw the "media product" known as Bill Clinton. We discovered that he was all hat and no cattle.

Well, 41 did get defeated for reelection and Clinton did get elected twice.  And I think Bush 43's inability to pierce the MSM bubble and get his message out effectively hurt us last year.  I think Fred is the best candidate to defeat Hillary, in no small part because of his proven communications skills.  People may not see that yet, but I can understand the longing for someone who is more effective at it than either Bush have been.  I saw Bush and Cheney at a rally in 2000 here in Memphis and he did very well with the crowd and delivered a great speech.  Unfortunately I think he's been convinced to modify his natural style, which I think is effective, to something more "presidential."

It is irrational to fear a President Hillary?

Okay Dude, have it your way.

So if Rudy is the nominee, you will do what?

You sure are in a fighting mood over what is no more than a hypothetical as of now.
It is not the position of a Conservative to sit on their hands, throw a tantrum, and elect Hillary through neglect and attrition.
And just so you know, I support Fred, so go ahead and take your shots.
If not for your username, I would think you a Paul supporter.

Those craven state dept. cowards should be ashamed of themselves. A certain level of risk is inherent in a diplomat’s job — what, do they think it’s all high tea and Caribbean junkets???

I love Hunter’s proposal that Bush fire the folks who refuse to do their jobs and replace them with retrained recovering US servicemen and women.

On another subject, I thought Thompson did a great job this morning. I know some prefer a more frenetic style, but I like Thompson’s thoughtful, reasoned demeanor and approach.

I came into this thread late and didn’t read the first 200 posts or so (will do it later - promise), but .... were there any other shows on today?

I know we all missed Biden’s appearance (in every way) but I think this thread reveals the obsession with Fred. Most of us like him ... I sure do ... but everyone is fascinated.

Some run him down because he is not their man, or he just doesn’t float their boat for some reason.

But, I think he and Rudy are the two guys who can deal effectively with the press and the public and the Hillary.

I like Rudy but he is not as conservative as Fred, so I’m totally for Fred.
