Ok, I for one would like to know why everyone thinks this is bad? If he's trying to keep the country safe from Islamofacists then that's a good thing isn't it? It's not like he's trying to stop democracy, he's trying to protect it from Al-Cockos.
Can anyone enlighten me?

This will exacerbate divisions among the folks there we could potentially get along with. Supporters of the court's Chief Justice Chaudhry, corrupt former PM Benazir Bhutto, Musharraf, and corrupt former PM Nawaz Sharif are all folks we could likely get along with in some degree. They are less likely to give their bombs to one or another group of terrorists (though Sharif might sell it if the price was right).
All the people are now fighting with each other. However, the other side, the crazy side, is very temporarily more united (though a good opportunity to bomb Shiites would not be passed up). Many of the tribal animosities are temporarily dormant. At least, in among the sarcasm, that is my general understanding of the situation.

I wish he could have a tv special covering all this stuff in the link.
He would need more than his one hour daily tv show.

We all knew this day would come sooner or later.
Here’s hoping the Pakistani Army stays loyal...

It is not democracy that is virtuous but enforceable constitutions that protect human rights.
(democracy is a terrible form of government, cruel, belligerent, and unsustainable)
Pakistan must be controlled by a pro-western military dictatorship for the next many decades (even a US military dictatorship) until such time as the nukes are removed or the militant Islamic population, about 50% gievs up their religion and swear off the explicit mandate of their cult to destroy non-Muslim nations.
The United States will take military action to prevent the democratic take over of Pakistan by militant Muslims, if Musharaf cannot. Approx 50% of the population are radical supporters of Al Qaida.
In the past 4 years the US has opened up 3 new military bases 9with runways) and signed a military cooperation agreement with the moderate, internationalist, government.
The US will capture and control the nuclear facilities in the event of the wrong people taking control of the government, whether by democratic processes or not.

I guess my next question is this; do we, the USA, want Musharraf in power? With the rise of islamofacism in Pakistan will what he’s doing help retore civility or will this lead Bin Ladin and his ilk into power there?

First our idiot congress upsets Turkey, now this. Islamofacism is on the rise over there now that Iraq is out of their grasp and it doesn’t bode well, especially not with Russia and China aiding their cause.
