Duane "Dog" Chapman's tape-recorded tirade has cost him his TV show.
"Dog the Bounty Hunter" has been pulled off the air by A&E, the cable network announced Friday. The network stopped short of saying the show was canceled, apparently leaving open the possibility of a return with new episodes or reruns.
"In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take Dog The Bounty Hunter off the network's schedule for the foreseeable future," A&E said in prepared statement. "We hope that Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun."
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Yum Brands, which advertised Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut on "Dog the Bounty Hunter," had pulled all of its ads, calling Chapman's comments "despicable."
Production of the Hawaii-based reality show was suspended earlier this week after it was reported that Chapman made repeated racial slurs in a tape-recorded phone conversation with his son, Tucker.
"Dog the Bounty Hunter" went on the air in 2004 and was one of A&E's highest rated shows, averaging 1.2 million viewers in primetime.
Chapman, who owns Da Kine Bail Bonds in downtown Honolulu, has apologized for repeatedly using a racial slur to refer to his son's girlfriend, who is African American.
The Associated Press reported on Friday that Tucker Chapman taped the phone call with his father, and sold it to the National Enquirer, which posted the tape on its Web site on Wednesday.
Thats what I am thinking too. I bet she got Tucker to do it. $$$$$ was behind this.
Perhaps if the Dog were smarter he would not have given his son a chance to sell him out.
I am guessing that after Dog's N-Bomb tirade that he would not be able to secure a job mopping floors.
That’s not what I was thinking. I think Tucker tried to get her to get a tape but she couldn’t. So he got it himself.

He specifically mention NE on the recording. Set-up from word go. Dad should have dealt with this face to face, especially when he could feel a take-down coming on.

Just heard the tape in full (on H&C) with the bleeps. It’s clear the concern is the CHARACTER of this girl, not her race.

Dog’s workout partner is black, his hair stylist is black, his minister is black. Yeah, right, he is racist to the core.
The issue was a father with a son who had a wacko, traitor girlfriend - which has now been proven true. It is a stab into Dog’s heart by his own son because it hits his father in what he cares about more deeply than anything else - his family - AND his family business and the provision it will make for all his children going forward....or so Dog hoped.
The boy claimed on the call that all the others in Dog’s family who did not like his black girlfriend were mistaken about her, that she had not claimed she was going to “get” Beth (Dog’s wife), that she had not claimed she was going to tape Dog’s family talking....!!!! Obviously nobody was lying about that!
Ah....now even more comes out...the National Enquirer wanted to publish pictures of Dog’s DAUGHTER who was killed in an auto accident the very day of Duane’s marraige to Beth - and Duane very STRONGLY said NO to the National Enquirer....
Ah.....could the National Enquirer possibly have been just waiting for dirt like this? Could the NE have approached the son and/or the sicko girlfriend?
I hope Dog’s program gets picked up by a competing network and he moves on with his life and his business and his program.....leaving his jerk of a son to rot in prison with the son’s “girlfriend”....unless he somehow forgives his son. If I remember right, A&E is owned by one of Hillary’s pals.....and was one of their most popular moneymakers on the air. Good, let them lose money.
And I hope Imus slams Hillary once he is back on the air for being the dictator wannabe who saw to it he was canned....

He trusted his son, obviously, but he should have known better especially when Denmark started to smell.
I think the son should have tried to resolve the situation privately, not publicly. If talking didn’t work, he obviously could have gone to his father’s minister. I feel the son went about it totally the wrong way. But he will be surprised how fast the $15,000 will disappear, and he won’t be able to sponge off dad after that.
In my book, anyone that using the N-Word to describe their son’s girlfriend in a dummy.

Apologizing to Step-n-Fetchen is going to get him nothing but out of a job. His fans don’t care since they most likely talk just like him. He will be off TV for 6 mos and then be back bigger than ever.

Not the greatest intuition for a bounty hunter. I guess your eyes get cloudy when it comes to family. I heard Dog turned Tucker in on parole violation so he should have expected possible payback.
He may have trusted his son but that does not remove the fact that the Dog is an idiot, perhaps even a racist idiot.
The fact he did not use that in public was probably impressive.
