Not surprising. Carey is well known for his love of skunk and hookers.

but he defends the use of medical marijuanaAs do I. It was the ONLY thing that helped my wife through her 2 bouts of breast cancer. You have no idea how heartbreaking it is to stay up all night, constantly emptying the "bucket" so it can be used again & again.

Marijuana helped my mother with her nausau and not be so looped that she couldn’t enjoy the last few months with her family. The other nauseau drugs knock you out.
Ready for the flaming of me and my mother who went to church for her whole life and was a hard choice to try it. I urged her. I told her “Mama, people who smoke for cancer don’t smoke to get high, they smoke to get by”. She tried it and it worked. At least until the very very end. Then nothing helped.

I was channel surfing yesterday and happened upon "In Pot We Trust" on Showtime. I only saw about the last 30 mins, but caught several testimonials from very regular looking folks using marijuana to help deal with medical issues. The improvements were quite evident. The medical marijuana lobby was shown (mostly being shut down by politicians) and LEOs tearing down a 'garden' they had found. The phone rang while I was watching, but I'm pretty sure they included an interview with a recreational user as well.
Anyway, it was an good documentary that seemed to showed both sides, IMHO.

Good for Carey. It’s insane to have to ask the government for permission to consume a plant, especially if you are dying of cancer.

I have no problem with medical marijuana. I just think it should be handled the same as any other drug - tested, reviewed, etc.
For the most part, it shouldn't be smoked. There are other ways to get the benefits of it without adding the harm of repeatedly filling lungs with smoke to an already sick person.

I guess I’m watching “Price is Right” reruns. At least there has to be a couple thousand of them.

There are also plenty of people who smoke dope because they’re depressed, sad, their life is screwed up. Hell...tons of excuses.

I don’t use hemp, but I will defend the plant to anyone. It’s a viable drug, great for making rope and other things. It’s an amazingly useful plant. It used to be grown as a crop legally, but no more.
Line made of hemp was stronger, more flexible, and more resistant to the damaging effects of salt water than other types of natural line.

"the Reason Foundation, a nonprofit educational group ..."... that also publishes Reason magazine, a pro-recreational-pot libertarian rag. Get medical marijuana accepted and recreational marijuana will follow.
Or as Keith Stroup (former Director of NORML) said, "We are trying to get marijuana reclassified medically. If we do that, we'll be using the issue as a red herring to give marijuana a good name. That's our way of getting to them just like the paraphernalia laws are their way of getting to us."

Drew Carey and Bob Barker should not even be compared. Carey is intelligent and Barker is a flake.
