HUNTER: GO TO WALTER REED AND BETHESDA FOR NEW STATE DEPT PERSONNEL
House.gov ^ | Nov 1, 2007 | Duncan Hunter/Staff

Posted on 11/01/2007 12:58:26 PM PDT by pissant

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, will be meeting with President Bush today regarding his Wounded Warrior proposal to Congress. During today’s meeting, Congressman Hunter intends to also suggest that State Department personnel who refuse deployment to Baghdad be replaced with wounded veterans at Walter Reed and Bethesda hospitals.

“When the State Department appears to be filled with reluctant personnel, let’s turn to those who have bravely followed the American flag in the most dangerous of assignments,” said Congressman Hunter. “The U.S. Marines, soldiers, airmen and Navy personnel presently recovering at our national military hospitals have all the character required by the Department of State. They are brave, loyal, intelligent and fiercely determined to win the War on Terror.

“They are veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters and you can be sure that when called on for difficult assignments, they won’t convene a town meeting to protest. Especially for those whose mobility has been impaired by wounds, State Department positions, not only in Baghdad but around the world, will provide excellent jobs as well as availing our nation of their enormous talent.”

Hunter will recommend a team of State Department recruiters be immediately sent to Walter Reed and Bethesda hospitals, as well as posting application forms on relevant employment websites.

“Let’s replace these reluctant Nellies with America’s finest citizens,” concluded Hunter. “Our wounded warriors will serve our country efficiently, effectively and with undying patriotism.”

“The U.S. Marines, soldiers, airmen and Navy personnel presently recovering at our national military hospitals have all the character required by the Department of State.”

I finally found something I disagree with Congressman Hunter on. The U. S. Marines, soldiers, airmen and Navy personnel have a lot more character than is required by the Department of State. In fact, they are probably overqualified.

“Let’s replace these reluctant Nellies with America’s finest citizens,” concluded Hunter. “Our wounded warriors will serve our country efficiently, effectively and with undying patriotism.”

Ok. I am back to agreeing with Congressman Hunter again.

God Bless Duncan Hunter. Our State Department is one swamp that needs to be drained anyway. Has it ever occurred to these dufus lefties that they have helped create the entire problem in Iraq. These geniuses have preached that only political progress will help and our Military cannot obtain security. Now they are realizing that you can’t have political progress in an insecure region?

“Hunter is scheduled to be on Glenn Becks radio program tomorrow morning”

Thanks for the heads up. Glenn Beck has been getting lots of calls for Duncan Hunter. It pays to call talk shows, but I think Beck likes Hunter, anyway.

Also, Hunter will also be on Bill Cunningham’s show, either this Sunday evening, or next Sunday, Cunningham said.

Last Sunday Cunningham got at least three calls re: Hunter.

Man oh man what this guy would do as president. He'd turn the whole establishment on its ear!

No wonder they're trying to ignore him.

And lets not just fill up the new US Embassy in Baghdad with heroes who KNOW Iraq, are not career State chickensh*ts but who are patriots to the core.

I am thinking KOREAN PENINSULA and SIX PARTY TALKS.

Throw that no good looser, career striped pants Chris Hill out on his ear, and replace him with some hardnose Korean-American Marine or Army officer (G-2 type or otherwise) who had suffered and served his country in Iraq.

Imagine the cheating North Korean diplomats defecating bricks when they are told they are going to face at the negotiating table a battled hardened savvy, Korean American, fluent in Korean who will not get hoodwinked or taken for a ride by Pyongyang, which is happening right now with the currrent crop of no good appeasers in State Department running North Korean affairs, proposing sellout after sellout all in the name of "legacy" and getting meaningless agreements from the Norkies.
