So I was down in DC this past weekend and happened to run into a well-connected media person, who told me flatly, unequivocally that “everyone knows” The LA Times was sitting on a story, all wrapped up and ready to go about what is a potentially devastating sexual scandal involving a leading Presidential candidate. “Everyone knows” meaning everyone in the DC mainstream media political reporting world. “Sitting on it” because the paper couldn’t decide the complex ethics of whether and when to run it. The way I heard it they’d had it for a while but don’t know what to do. The person who told me )not an LAT person) knows I write and didn’t say “don’t write about this”.

I have said for months that in the end the dems will nominate Gore.

That's exactly what Baghdad Jim McDermott said the last time I ran into him. "The front runners will all knock each other out, and Gore will make a delayed entry and be the nominee. He'll pick Obama as his running mate."

Could be.

It's not a Republican or it would be out already. You think they'd sit on a Rudy scandal? It is to laugh -- and what more exactly could Rudy do? You think they'd sit on a Mitt scandal? They'd be in ecstasy exposing the Mormon. It has to be a Democrat. It isn't Bill Clinton, because there's nothing more he could do in the smut area that would be that newsworthy. The most likely reason they haven't run it is fear, and I spell media fear H-i-l-l-a-r-y.

Who's down for a tuna sandwich?

Gore waited too long to get into the RAT primary race. I’m pretty sure the time to get on the ballots has expired in most states.

He won’t run 3rd party because the elite RAT machine would have him greased.

No, they are stuck with the carpet muncher or Obama and both of them will lose.

Edwards could have a chance but he couldn’t beat Obama to win the nomination.

I don’t think he’s going to run in the primaries. He doesn’t need to do so. All he needs is a divided and contentious convention where he can ride to the rescue as the “savior of the party” and go forward from there. I am not alone in thinking this apparently. Someone on FR told me that Jim McDermit recently told him pretty much the same thing. I however have been saying it for months. ;)

Sheesh, that picture!! You owe me for a new keyboard and a carpet shampoo.

Speaking of that, the rumor probably involves Hillary...

I disagree. Bill being caught in yet another sleazy, perverted scandal is a significant news story and a liability to Mrs. SinkEmporer.

According to Emmett Tyrell Jr., the SinkEmporer has been on a sex addict rampage since he left office. It didn’t really matter when he was overseas most of the time and Hillary(!) was biding her time in the senate. But as the primaries become imminent, the fact that Hillary(!) is married to an impeached serial/philander/sexual harasser becomes more important. Everyone knows what a dirty old man Bill is—it’s common knowledge. I do think most voters respect the office of the President enough to not want the next First Spouse to be a sex-addicted philandering slut.

If Gore isn’t running in the Rat primaries, he isn’t running.

He could run Green party but he wont because they would have him whacked!

He could invent his own, independent Demonrat ticket, but he wont because they would still have him whacked!

Bottom line...He isn’t running.
