So I was down in DC this past weekend and happened to run into a well-connected media person, who told me flatly, unequivocally that “everyone knows” The LA Times was sitting on a story, all wrapped up and ready to go about what is a potentially devastating sexual scandal involving a leading Presidential candidate. “Everyone knows” meaning everyone in the DC mainstream media political reporting world. “Sitting on it” because the paper couldn’t decide the complex ethics of whether and when to run it. The way I heard it they’d had it for a while but don’t know what to do. The person who told me )not an LAT person) knows I write and didn’t say “don’t write about this”.

I ran late today and thank goodness I did! You should hear what Glenn Beck had to say about “Leninist Marxists and the Mexican drug cartel.”

Mr. Beck has started a new website for the families of some 70 kidnapped American citizens to speak out, anonymously, about the cartel.

Under the current system, called the H-2 program, employers brought about 121,000 guestworkers into the United States in 2005 — approximately 32,000 for agricultural work and another 89,000 for jobs in forestry, seafood processing, landscaping, construction and other non-agricultural industries.

These workers, though, are not treated like “guests.” Rather, they are systematically exploited and abused. Unlike U.S. citizens, guestworkers do not enjoy the most fundamental protection of a competitive labor market — the ability to change jobs if they are mistreated. Instead, they are bound to the employers who “import” them. If guestworkers complain about abuses, they face deportation, blacklisting or other retaliation.

Federal law and U.S. Department of Labor regulations provide some basic protections to H-2 guestworkers — but they exist mainly on paper. Government enforcement of their rights is almost non-existent. Private attorneys typically won’t take up their cause.

I suspect it is a Dem. A juicy story about a Rep would already have been headlines for the last two weeks. The two Dem candidates that the press think are worthy of defending are Hillary and Obama. It does make you wonder what transgression they believe the public would find unforgivable.

I wouldn’t even call it another kind. It is what it is.

Concubines are very common in other countries and there has been various reports of them in the ice.gov press releases.

I do not see how a lesbian presidential candidate could get 270 Electoral votes.

She would be happy if she got 269.

Too subtle I guess.
She would be happy if she got 269 (...if she got 'to 69'...Nudge, nudge, smirk).

I have said for months that in the end the dems will nominate Gore. He will be viewed as the salvation of their party come the convention. It will be a coronation, and we will be in big trouble, look how close he came last time.
