DEMS TURN ON MUKASEY
Nealz Nuze/ WSB RAdio ^ | October 31, 2007 | Neal Boortz

Hillary Clinton has added her name to a laundry list of Democrats that are now opposing the nomination of Judge Michael Mukasey for attorney general. However, she may be in a bind because it was her fellow Senator Chuckie Schumer who nominated Mukasey to begin with.

Clinton's opposition? The same as Obama, Edwards and others ... responses to questions about interrogation techniques. Mukasey refused to say whether or not waterboarding is a form of torture. He also said that the president has the authority to disobey constitutional federal statues if it is in effort to defend the country.

Waterboarding, by the way, is not torture .. unless you define torture down, as the MoveOn Democrats and the media have been doing for years.

The Judiciary Committee is still waiting for responses to a series of written questions asking Mukasey to clarify his views. Some Democrats say that unless he explicitly denounces waterboarding, they will not support him. I'm sorry but making someone think that they are drowning is not torture. And if it takes making a terrorist think he is drowning to save this country, then I don't see any reason why it should be stopped.

One more thing about torture ... just so there is no question of where I stand (as if it matters). If we know that there is a nuclear bomb in downtown Chicago set to go off in hours; and if we have somebody in our custody who can tell us where that bomb is, we can (you might not want to read this) drive bamboo shoots up under his fingernails, nails into his eyes, crush his knees, and then, for good measure, drive a glass rod up his bin Laden and break it into tiny pieces, and then cut off anything we don't' think this guy is ever going to need again in his entire miserable life just to get him to talk ... if that's what it takes.

Let's stop this asinine moral exhibitionism on the issue of torture. If you wouldn't torture some worthless piece of human debris to save the live of someone you love .. .than step aside and let someone else do the job.

I’m surprised anyone didn’t see this coming. It doesn’t matter who is nominated, nor does it matter if a leftwingnut like Chuckie ‘I’ve never held a real job” Schumer promoted him.

Bush Derangement Syndrome guaranteed he would be attacked, and most likely not confirmed.

Well, we now know what real torture is: Testifying before the Congress for a cabinet gig.

Could anything be more ridiculous or stupid?

Waterboarding? Nothing compared to going up the Hill for confirmation hearings.

Ugh.

The Democraps play here is simple, get Mukasey to admit water boarding is torture, impeach Bush for violating U.S. torture laws. Rinse and repeat until they get a attorney general candidate who will give the Demopcraps what they want.

National security to Democraps, it’s all a game. Just ask BJ about whacking UBL when he had the chance.

I’m all for waterboarding if it will save American lives.

I don’t know why Bush doesn’t just nominate Robert Bork. The Democrats, in pandering to their lunatic leftist constituents, are obligated to oppose anyone and everyone, without thought or reason.

Never thought I'd see the day when Hillary Clinton is the puppet whose strings are being pulled (by moveon and the others).

Bill may have been a follwer of polls instead of a leader of a nation, but he was nobody's puppet. He pulled strings and treated others as playthings.

I thought Hillary would be the same. But, no.

Waterboarding, by the way, is not torture

So the nominee should say so.

I’m getting sick of hearing “waterboarding” being called torture. Howabout, using a board to hit a terrorist in the head until he talks, then actually drown him. Does that sound better? If so, I can live with it.

Why go through this charade with the Dems?

Two words: Recess appointment.
